utopian Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Once in a youtube video of Stephan's, I heard him talk about some kind of experiment where they tried to raise newborn babies without mothers, just try to perhaps only bottlefeed them, change their diapers and that was about it. No love or cuddling from mothers or anything. All the children ended up dying. I am pretty sure I heard about this before somewhere, but I could never find the source. I have been looking through Stephs videos for what could have been the video I heard it from, but I am just not having any luck. If anyone could find me the source, or know what this experiment was called, I would really appreciate hearing it. I could have sworn it was something like tchenko babies or romanian orphanages or something like that.
Tyne Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Can't quite recall which video it was, but I remember this: He was talking about Socialism in Russia- what happens to a society where the consequences of promiscuity are removed by government. It was part of an introduction to a talk about Welfare in America. He was using this as a historical example.
Tyne Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 I just came across a page in The Continuum concept that sites the the report Stefan might have been referring to. (Pg. 72) Dr. John Bowlby of London's Tavistock Clinic was commissioned by the World Health Organization in 1950 to report the fate of "children homeless in their native countries" with regard to their mental health. The book sites J. Bowlby, Maternal Care and Mental Health, WHO., 1950
