Alan C. Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Jeb Bush Comes Out Against Encryption Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush said...that encryption makes it harder for law enforcement to track down “evildoers” — and called for a “much better, more cooperative relationship” with Apple, Google, and other tech companies that are building uncrackable private communication apps into their new products.“If you create encryption, it makes it harder for the American government to do its job — while protecting civil liberties — to make sure that evildoers aren’t in our midst,” Bush said in South Carolina at an event sponsored by Americans for Peace, Prosperity, and Security, a group with close ties to military contractors. Anybody else sick of the Bushes?

russoft Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 If the 2016 election is Bush vs. Clinton, I'll convert from libertarian to anarchist. 2
WorBlux Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Hey Bush Man the cat is out of the bag already. Any encryption that can't protect child pornographers from international investigations can't protect your credit card information from the Russian cuber-mafias.
A4E Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 When control freaks see that they cannot monitor everything on internet, the likely outcome is staged events followed by attacks on internet freedom. And then it will be up to all internet freedom lovers to expose the foolery, unless you are willing to accept internet regulation.
thebeardslastcall Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 If the 2016 election is Bush vs. Clinton, I'll convert from libertarian to anarchist. Does not the mere possibility and the millions of dollars they've both already pulled into their campaigns make you want to change now and get it over with? Embrace the light, come to us now, don't fight it!
shirgall Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 And his dad said atheists shouldn't be allowed to vote... 1

Embrace the light, come to us now, don't fight it! I'm holding out hope that the worst candidates end up pulling out of the race and Rand Paul gets the nomination. Not a perfect candidate, but he's a far cry better than anyone else, at least from what I've seen so far. I'm not nearly as enthralled by the Trump as some around here...
Hamish Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Anyone here been following the awesome "Maid Safe" project? Its basically this awesome layer of complete encrypted goodness that sits atop the normal internet. Its such a beautifully designed project. In some ways its similar to bitcoin in the sense that its backed by an incentive based crypto currency (called safecoin). But instead of being wasteful (bitcoin uses a proof of work concept which is basically the same as proof of electricity usage) its productive. To "mine" safecoin you need to provide storage to the network (and bandwidth to access said storage). Everything is encrypted and distributed and the idea is that within the network, it will be possible to have complete privacy if you so desire. Anyway, I'm hopeful that such a project will do away with governments ability to surveil, whether they want to or not... 1
FDRenthusiast Posted August 21, 2015 Posted August 21, 2015 Thanks for posting! It's hard to keep track of all these erosions of our freedoms.
Alan C. Posted September 24, 2015 Author Posted September 24, 2015 Bush Nepotism The big news in Texas right now is that George P Bush, son of a JebBush, got elected Land Commissioner in Texas and is violating the law, hiring his friends and family, not posting jobs, and has turned the Texas General Land office to a frat house / political payoff machine that even has his retired Republican predecessor aghast. He’s a damn Bush, people. What the hell did you expect? If you didn’t want someone acting like a damn Bush, why the fool tarnation did you elect a damn Bush?Personnel records show that Bush has directed at least 40 external hires between November 2014 and July 2015 but listed only four of those with the Workforce Commission. The average salary for those four jobs was about $65,000. The average salary for the 36 jobs that were not posted was about $90,000.Ten jobs went to campaign aides, including temporary transition director, Trey Newton, who made $17,500 per month, and the five regional outreach coordinators, who are making annual salaries of $55,000. Newton, the campaign engineer Bush once called “our Karl Rove,” left in January. He did not return a call seeking comment. And it gets worse. His college friends and GOP donors with no management experience get triple digit salaries.
Alan C. Posted November 10, 2015 Author Posted November 10, 2015 eb Bush reveals he would murder baby Hitler if he could go back in time From 2013: Jeb Bush to give Liberty Medal to Hillary Clinton
fractional slacker Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 There was another Republican debate last night. The Drudge online polls shows Bush pulling in all of 1.4% with Trump at 37%. Consistently less than 2% = persona non grata. Adios amigo.
Hannibal Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 eb Bush reveals he would murder baby Hitler if he could go back in time From 2013: Jeb Bush to give Liberty Medal to Hillary Clinton Is that a bad thing? Assuming it was possible. I'm not for killing innocents, but if I knew they were pre-destined to do evil, then it would be virtuous to kill that baby. That aside, I'm sick of the Bushes
thebeardslastcall Posted November 14, 2015 Posted November 14, 2015 It's easy to say you'd kill evil when you've clearly identified it and are doing so in an imaginary scenario where you're free from the consequences of that action. Would he do it if he'd be labeled as a horrible child murderer and put to death? And who's to say that would even fundamentally make things better? It's an impossible theoretical. Perhaps the dangerous idea here is if they believe in God and they believe God has told them some child is destined to do great evil and then they murder that child on this psychotic idea. How would they expect that to go?But yeah, if you can clearly and correctly (sanely) identify and destroy evil without harming good life, why wouldn't you? That's just basic self defense. He's not looking much like he's going to win this nomination. Marco Rubio seems much more likely.
