I put spoilers because I think it's more compact and convenient with big threads.

Purpose:

I want to explore the possibility of a link between personality and listening (as opposed to ignoring) FDR.

Answer to discontent with theory:

Statement: this does not take into account the uniqeness and complexity of individuals. Answer: I will be aware of that in the use of the data and the questioning isn't aimed to label you, rather, it is to capture significant differences on how we prefer to deal with the world.

Disclaimer: I also suspect that with self knowledge and etc here, individuals have a much more developped and wide usage of their mind. Being able to adopt both sides does not exclude the possibility of a preference. Please, bare with me.

Considered methodology:

The weakest link is the online testing.

I had a found a satisfying methodology, but the website dissapeared. The test, if understood correctly, was immune to cultural and reality contexts. It was supposed to discern cognitive preference. Which mind activities do you prefer? How do you prefer to deal with the world in your mind? How you use your mind has a profound incidence on your personality. (or vis-versa)

I will then use another methodology (seeing as the previous ain't coming back)

Find your type with the wikipedia page by using the sorter descriptions ( ''Understanding the sorter descriptions'') For answer format, scroll down to ''Temperaments and intelligence types''

I think the weakest link is The third ring: directive (proactive) versus informative (reactive)

Here are some extra questions: proactive = J , reactive = P.  To eliminate cultural and reality context, answer from the perspective of an ideal world for each activity. For example, would you like to plan in a world ideal for planning or adapt in a world ideal for adapting?

Do you prefer to have things settled and proactively follow and stay on the track of a plan(J) ? or do you prefer to keep your options open and adapt readily (P)?

What is a higher priority: Form conclusions (J) or further explore possibility while not settled yet(P) ?

You can give the type by the name of the KTS role (ex: Inspector) or by the MBTI format if you know that. If one apsect is too unsettled, exclude it by mentioning a more unprecise answer (ex: NTJ or Guardian)

For example, I am an ENTJ field marshall.

If anyone finds this interesting and would like to know more, there is neuroscientific research into this (brain recording) by Dario Nardi, here are some free ''excerpts''

http://savipra.tumblr.com/post/69436625479/dario-nardis-neuroscience-of-personality

Methodology in this thread IS NOT based on the empirical research.

Background:

As part of considering my market options for a future occupation (in anticipation for study choices), I took an MBTI test from my own volition, it tested well and I was impressed at the highlighting of what puts me apart (or used to) ex: ''blunt honesty'', debate argument master, etc''. I thought people who would score that where like me and I'm great for the world! I then proceeded to hypothesize that certain personality types in the theory had my good qualities and that other demographics had bad. Some of it true, most of the idealism wrong. A preference to use the mind in the certain way did not imply rationality.

ex: NT= philosophy and reason to the world

SJ= Dogma and culture

You can see how they are opposed. SJs are the most prominent according to statistics(50-33%), while NTs are a mere 10%.

Do you think an IQ poll would be biased because people with less IQ won't vote?

1. The poll is anonymous.

2. Voting accordingly will reduce stereotypes and promote fair consideration.

I hope no one is attaching themselves to words like ''rational'' and answering differently due to that.

It's ironic how I desire no outcome for this poll. If it's balanced (proportional to population) it's good for the cause, otherwise it's bad. the reason for imbalance, is elitist fantazies, I hope they are fantazies because of the previous sentence.

If I put myself in any answer's shooes, I won't be biased, but other's view of this may vary. I hope not.

Possible fails:

Apart from the low sample, I have the following:

1. Ns being less predominent, have lesser access to activities they like. They are more likely to be on FDR forums. I think this is false, I doubt both ways.

2. People think 1 answer is superior to another and will lean towards it.

3. People took a failed test

4. The instructions are more easily understandabele to NTs than to ???the others in general??.

I was an INTJ once, two weeks later I was ISFJ...something stinks about that test, that aside I'd happily answer the poll to help w/ your data collection efforts, but I can't so maybe you can sort this out manually...I'm also quite "K" (if it's of any interest to you, my father is quite K and my mother is quite r)

did you try with the descriptions on the wiki?

Very interesting idea.

I test as INTJ and INTP with a very strong tendency towards INT and a very tiny difference between J/P which is why sometimes I'll come out INTJ and someone INTP.

I find the J/P questions frustrating because how I approach something such as problems tends to be different depending on the type of problem, perceiving vs judging is something you can pick between circumstantially and so the nature of the questions asked determine how I fall there.

I have no intention of reproducing myself (MGTOW) however if I hypothetically did it would be strong K type, high investment in 1 child, at most 2 children. And i think long term on the planet in general we need it to be no more than 2 in order not to use up all the space/resources.

Just to be clear I voted NT, then both JK and PK. Looking through your post it seems like the J/P question might not refer to the Myers-Briggs test as the final criteria? I might have voted wrong in that case.

When it comes to proactive vs reactive, I think proactivity is more stable long term and better for things like making my job in IT easier and planning for lots of things, from a practical standpoint is something I tend to strive for. However intellectually I know that predictable things like that are boring and uninteresting adn I don't know that I'd like to live in a world which was perfectly predictable and routine, reactivity gives rise to spontaneity and interesting differences, for example it's awful that we do have so much death, conflict and immorality in the world but practically everything interesting comes from it, we presumably wouldn't have a FDR community if the world was perfectly proactive. So I don't really know how to answer that question, I think I'm well suited for reactivity, I can adapt and solve new problems and changing situations quite fast.

People often get different results with Meyers Briggs when taking the test(s) at different times, I tend to go back and forward between INTJ and INTP. It's not an exact science.

I have taken the test a few times and flip between INTJ -A and ISPT -A.

Or you could use the instructions provided in my thread. There's a reason I did not choose a test, I know no better one.

Sorry mate, I've read it twice and I can't discern any instructions.

I would like to know your answer, maybe 75% of the answers mostly don't understand the instructions.
