ashesmi Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Here is a New Math with No Straight Lines in it... http://www.lulu.com/shop/ashes-mi/jaydens-therom/paperback/product-22369365.html I have Acquired Savant Syndrome, so can anyone other than me understand the math?
dsayers Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 I reject the premise. Straight line is a concept. One that the real world doesn't prohibit. Putting forth a method that precludes a valid concept would therefore in some way have to NOT accurately describe the real world. Therefore, it would be inferior to a system that allows for such a concept to be valid. They didn't even spell theorem correctly in the title.
shirgall Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Non-Euclidian mathematical systems can be interesting and produce useful results, especially with projections and even cryptography. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-Euclidean_geometry
