goodbytes
An interesting article from the CDC discusses the fact that roughly 80% of divorces today are initiated by women. Further research seems to indicate that this percentage has steadily increased ~10% every decade since the 70's. Thoughts?

BradleyHillman
Interesting, an increase from the figures I'd previously seen: A woman is the party filing for divorce in about 66% of divorce cases. Makes it even more outrageous that women receive custody in about 84% of child custody cases. Not to mention, and I remember Stefan has previously cited a similar statistic, but 30% of those who test for paternity weren't even the fathers of "their" kids (bonus: At least 10% of fathers are victims of paternity fraud.). Considering women are cheating and lying about the paternity of their children, overwhelmingly are the party filing for divorce, and we have the statistics I'll include below that indicate the damage done to kids by fatherless homes.. When will society recognize the blatant anti male bias present in our society both culturally and systemically? 63% of youth suicides are from fatherless homes (US Dept. Of Health/Census) – 5 times the average. 90% of all homeless and runaway children are from fatherless homes – 32 times the average. 85% of all children who show behavior disorders come from fatherless homes – 20 times the average. (Center for Disease Control) 80% of rapists with anger problems come from fatherless homes –14 times the average. (Justice & Behavior, Vol 14, p. 403-26) 71% of all high school dropouts come from fatherless homes – 9 times the average. (National Principals Association Report) 75% of all adolescent patients in chemical abuse centers come from fatherless homes – 10 times the average. (Rainbows for All God’s Children) 70% of youths in state-operated institutions come from fatherless homes – 9 times the average. (U.S. Dept. of Justice, Sept. 1988) 85% of all youths in prison come from fatherless homes – 20 times the average. (Fulton Co. Georgia, Texas Dept. of Correction) Source Most people would be hesitant to even discuss the value a woman brings to a family. This is because while it's acceptable to look at men and see wallets, it is completely unacceptable to look at a woman and see her primary source of value as linked to her role as a homemaker. Both generalizations that fit pretty well to the "average" family, at least historically, yet only one remains socially acceptable (males-> provider | females->homemaker). Below are some statistics focused on highlighting the expectations of men as primary financial provider: 70% of UK women would instantly change their minds about leaving a boring man if he won a lottery jackpot. 78% of US women said a partner with a steady job was the most important trait in a future spouse. 75% said they’d have a problem with dating someone without a job. Only 4% would go out with an unemployed man. 70% of Chinese women expect a man to provide an apartment along with a cash marriage offer. Bonus2: Research also shows that parents share workloads more when mothers allow men to be primary parents. Also how can any of us be surprised women are filing for more divorces when Men pay 97% of Alimony and their chances of being favored by the courts are already ridiculously high: Court bias against men is at least 6 times bigger than racial bias. Average sentences for crime by gender: Female – 18.51 months | Male – 51.52 months Judge bashes Probation Department for gender bias in favor of leniency for girls In Britain, Judges are now ordered to “show more mercy” on female criminals when deciding what sentence they should be given. These are all serious problems because they have resulted in things like: 1 in 8 men in prison have been jailed because they are unable to pay child support. xOf course fathes' struggles in custody court can largely be attributed to the feminist misandrist ideology that's run rampant through our universities and the minds of our youth: Feminists fought a law for equal custody to be the default if both parents want custody and neither parent is unfit. Feminist say Women should have the right to put a child up for adoption before the father gets custody. A representative of the Michigan National Organization for Women testified in opposition to the Revocation of Paternity Act, which stopped the old law which stated that if a woman was married and cheated on her husband, the resulting child is considered to be legally the husband’s and the biological father had no legal rights to fight for custody or parenting time with his biological child. The question is what do we do about this?
Eternal Growth
The question is what do we do about this? Forget about statistics and how the statistically average live and work on your own life, doing everything to ensure these things don't happen to you. The question is what do we do about this? I'm requesting a thread sticky just for this post. What should we do about it, as men, or as a society? Seeing as most of FDR is male, we can't do anything about it without getting women on board with voluntarism and peaceful parenting. The Gun of the State is a female invention, and we must somehow convince them to stop pointing the muzzle at us. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm certainly not going to fuck a woman who holds a gun to my balls while doing it. What should women do about it? First, they need to realize that men are slowly becoming more consciously aware that women use their sexual currency as long as they can, only relying on aggression when their fertility fades, but men can afford to wait them out by choosing to procreate later in life with a mate half his age. Then, and only then, will women collectively pause and take stock of the situation and change their behavior accordingly.
Eternal Growth
The Gun of the State is a female invention, and we must somehow convince them to stop pointing the muzzle at us. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm certainly not going to fuck a woman who holds a gun to my balls while doing it. Historically inaccurate. Even over the past century it is true that women have been the majority of voters, but never the majority of any branch of government in either leadership, advisor or enforcer roles (and it has never even come close to 50:50 in any of these). Before female suffrage, the institution of the state was entirely one of men killing and enslaving each other, and depriving women of property rights, to battle it out over which men would have sex with the prettiest women. Does that make the women responsible for it? No more than men are responsible for eating disorders, makeup and the conformist/manipulative social behaviour of women (men compete on dominance and social status; women compete on physical attractiveness and popularity; because these are what the other sex finds desirable). Ending the welfare state and family court system would lead to some form of correction and a better environment for forming high-quality reproductive pair bonds. However, if you really want to remove the power of female sexual currency, this is the most potent thing you can do (and it is a technological inevitability anyway): fund research into artificial alternatives to the female body. When men can have unlimited sex with lifelike fembots, and foetuses developing in an optimised synthetic environment in a laboratory have better outcomes than those developing in a womb, what artificial power will women have? 1
Kevin Beal
Divorce is increasingly seen to be as trivial as a breakup, most likely because, as far as the woman is concerned, the consequences are basically the same. She can easily replace her dependence on the man with the state, she might not even have to move out when property is often unfairly distributed. So many people already have kids outside of marriage, and nobody argues with women anymore that they ought to stay; it's just assumed that she must be doing it for a good reason (e.g. "she must be very unhappy if she's getting a divorce, poor thing", poor husband too? Poor kids?! Nope). Whatever negative consequences are there, they disproportionately affect men and children, and since children's preferences don't matter to most people, and because both men and women are highly biased toward women's interests, people don't generally have any awareness of those issues (until they become a victim themselves and haven't completely been consumed by the abyss of gynocentric familial propaganda). There is some evidence to suggest that parents living in a significantly unhappy marriage (where antagonism is the norm) will harm the development of children more than divorce does. Having experienced the effects of divorce myself and witnessed it as it affected the age groups of my many siblings, it's not a trivial matter in the slightest. Not that all of this was the divorce, but there were suicide attempts, lots and lots of abuse of drugs and alcohol, chronic and severe depressions, and more. This is relying on anecdotal evidence, but these problems didn't exist in my family before the divorce. So, for an unhappy marriage to be worse than that, it has to be really bad. Are 50% of married couples with children really so bad that this would be an improvement? If so, then I may well lose all faith in humanity. My case was made worse by the way the divorce took place, too (very ugly). So, obviously, this isn't super scientific or anything.
