MysterionMuffles Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 Hey everybody, I would like to share with you an in-depth look as to how and why I've come to start writing a young adult novel in order to promote peaceful parenting. This particular post is about the actual process of looking at the world around me and remembering my own experiences of being a teenager, and how that all shaped my decision to focus on this demographic in order to spread the word! Not only is YA one of the most read genres right now, they are actually more read by adults than teenagers. I think the teenage years are a very important time in everybody's life where their identity is shaped drastically from their experiences and the massive growth they go through in the short amount of time, and that it would be wise to write a story about peacefully parenting them in order to prevent violent conflicts happening at school. http://yourwritetolive.com/2015/11/04/how-i-conceived-the-idea-of-it-starts-at-home/ And for any further backstory info, here's another article as to how Chuck Palahniuk was the one who got me into YA in the first place, even though he doesn't write in that demographic. http://yourwritetolive.com/2015/05/25/how-i-got-into-young-adult-novels-through-chuck-palahniuk/ 3
