Hi, I want to learn about the history of philosophy, but I don't know who is most credible.

I am most interested in Western philosophy, but would appreciate any particularly insightful histories of other traditions of philosophy.

I already have "Intellectuals" by Paul Johnson on my reading list.

Any books, podcasts, articles, or Youtube videos would be appreciated.

I believe Leonard Peikoff's 'History of Philosophy' lecture series would interest you.

I also suggest the book 'The Cave and the Light: Plato Versus Aristotle, and the Struggle for the Soul of Western Civilization' by Arthur Herman - although I haven't read it myself yet, I hear it's very good (it's on my pile)
