HedgeWizard
I am looking for native English speakers between the ages of 18-26 who would like to come to China to be live in tutors of English to families with 1-3 children. Non-native English speakers are ok, however priority will be given to those with the highest mastery of the English Language and bonus points for past teaching experience, degrees from a university, and demonstrable skills with instruments. The upfront costs are your visa fees and a plane ticket to Shenzhen/Hong Kong which we can assist you with in making plans. These costs will be reimbursed in part or in full with a successful stay depending on how long you are able to commit to the family. Rent and food is typically paid for, and prior English teaching experience is not necessarily required. The candidates are expected to clean up after themselves and observe Chinese customs as much as possible, different families have somewhat different requirements and in most cases a relatively small wage is also available. In some cases this can also be done for college credit. Mandarin language courses are available through this program and there is no need to have prior comprehension of the Mandarin or Cantonese languages, in most cases at least one of the members in the host family's household has some English. The minimum duration commitment is 2 months with 6 or more months being ideal. Please private message me if you are interested or have any personal information related questions. I am happy to elaborate on public questions here.
luxfelix
Thank you for the heads up. I recently read another [member] thread about teaching in China; I don't know how many other forum members are in China, but the more the merrier, right? HedgeWizard
What are the visa requirements to teach in China for someone from the UK, does it vary much by region? There are a couple of ways of handling the situation depending on your proposed length of stay. However, working visas are often only accepted if you have a college degree. For the most part visas are fairly easy for people from English speaking nations. I encourage you to get into contact with me so we can see what is right for your specific circumstances. Things that will effect our methods include your education background, criminal records, nationality, and medical conditions that may cause insurance issues.
