The Dangers of "Intrinsic and Extrinsic" Motivation

This may come as a shock to some of you. How the concepts of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation serve to undermine child development by discouraging the development of strength of character.

That makes a lot of sense. I've never gotten any help with motivation and following though and am now struggling with it quite a bit. (I'm 19)
