Seeking statistics on Syria

Hi everyone,

I'm doing some research on Syria, and was hoping some here could help me out with some links.

Specifically, I'm wanting to know more about education, and religious fundamentalism.

I've got the 2012 Gallup poll: AFTER THE ARAB UPRISINGS: WOMEN ON RIGHTS, RELIGION, AND REBUILDING, but this has only one statistic regarding support for Sharia (15% for women, 18% for men).

I've also seen the Pew poll regarding muslim beliefs, but few of the content is specific to Syria.

I know Stefan has made claims like "most aren't even literate in their own language", but a Unicef stat (http://www.unicef.org/infobycountry/syria_statistics.html) indicates that more than 84% of the adult population is literate, and nearly 95% of the youth is literate.

Am I missing something, or does this Unicef data contradict Stefan's claim?

You'll forgive me if I haven't yet followed all Stef's videos, or followed all the links...the volume of content is overwhelming!

So, hoping someone can point me in the right direction for education & religious fundamentalism stats in Syria.  Much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
