Minority Report Information Style Management?

If a picture says a thousand words what might a 3-D information display or sculpture offer?

Is there software in existence that allows 3-D storage of information that's reasonably quick to enter and access with perhaps periodic updates through various sources on the Internet?

For further elaboration.

As an example of pseudo information storage for entertainment reasons I'm thinking of a RPG Skyrim. In the game Skyrim you have a fictional mythological world based loosely on Scandinavia with various towns and locations to raid and plunder.

What if instead of modelling the World on some fictional location there was an actual present day location with real world statistics the number of people in the game world could be modelled on by population density, traffic volume and density could be measured by lasers and in game stores could reflect real world prices. I'm not saying everything would be recorded just things that might be an interest to you. You could have an in game newsagent that would give you stories for your location and preferences or an Estate Agent that gives approx prices of land and property, a town hall that gives some legal information.

Or are you purposing a 3-D computer generated world that is designed to replicate the real world?

Yeah basically something like that, kind of a 3-D Internet, but with some method of filtering out crap. The holographic disk was interesting though not sure I'd trust the reliability of that much information on a single disk.
