Black Anarchist Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 I was watching this youtube video. It was about a lady with a history and that had 2 divorces acquire a healthy attitude to life by using a few simple principles. The main theme being that you go to love yourself. dsayers Posted May 13, 2016 Posted May 13, 2016 Self-knowledge is a requisite for happiness and virtuous love. Self-love is a requisite for protecting yourself from external emotional and psychological harm. At 3:07, she says that people are whole right now. I think this is inaccurate. Self-knowledge is a journey with no end because you haven't ended yet. At 4:19, she says that both of her parents had hearts of gold. I must reject this as that particular phrase has special meaning to me and should not be handed out lightly. Her father spending her whole life in prison is NOT a heart of gold. This is pretty important since the underlying premise is self-knowledge, which begins with calling things by their proper names. You will not be able to know/love yourself if you have an inaccurate understanding of where you've come from. I didn't watch too much beyond that. I hope this was helpful input. 2

Per 3:07: Sort of like saying "you have a complete car" when actually what we may have is all the car parts, but some might not be assembled. I'd be cautious about driving a car very fast that doesn't quite have all it's steering parts installed. Per 4:19: "...after his most recent (prison) sentence..." I guess it polishes his gold heart to keep going back.
