Why does a nation need massive amounts of immigration to become globalized?

Visa free travel and reasonable amounts of high skilled immigration should be enough to fulfill the requirements for freedom of movement.

Economists fool us into believing that mass immigration is beneficial to the economy. It isn't massive immigration, it's a growing population that's good for economic growth.

Then economists argue the economy needs more low skilled workers, the majority of low-wage jobs will be replaced by automation in the future.

I don't see why a globalized nation couldn't have a higher birth rate and reasonable amounts of regulated immigration of 10,000-80,000 instead of millions every year.

Look at Japan for a example, it's a globalized nation that's doing well that doesn't need mass immigration. All the Japanese need is to increase their birth rates.

Globalization and globalism sound similar, but I think they refer to different ideologies. Japan is globalized in the sense that it has international trade, but it doesn't follow globalism/multiculturalism since it is very racially, culturally, and spiritually homogeneous. In fact, I've only seen Japan mentioned as an example of nationalism else where.
