Paul Krugman never fails to remind us of the profound moral courage it takes to make uncontroversial statements to his adoring readers.  "I knew journos would hate it. But it felt like a moral duty", he says.  

 

I notice many commentators reverently address him as "Professor Krugman! Professor Krugman!". Often eager to tell about how they too exhibited saintly patience in explaining reality to blind ideologues.  Like a crowd of Hillary Clintons under bright lights, they roll their eyes at each-other in exasperation:  Once again the rubes demonstrate their appalling ignorance by refusing to agree.
