Dylan Lawrence Moore
Yao, I want to build a website and I've finally convinced myself that I'm not going to be doing it myself. I'm not very good and it takes me too long to teach myself. I want to pay for a decent service. I'm interested in either hiring someone from here or being directed to a place where I can peruse various website makers. You can contact me directly here: arcenez at gmail.com. Thanks! Anuojat
Have you looked at https://www.squarespace.com/ ? Seems to be pretty decent.
aviet
What type of site do you want to setup?I was thinking that you might benefit from a news/blog-type site to post your lengthy tomes on.If you want to set up a blog/news site, I'd recommend this:https://ghost.org/Some free themes here:http://marketplace.ghost.org/themes/free/There are a couple of people here who do installs for $5:https://www.fiverr.com/search/gigs?utf8=%E2%9C%93&search_in=category&source=top-bar&locale=en&query=install+ghost&page=1&filter=ratingFor servers I would recommend this company:https://www.kimsufi.com/us/en/servers.xmlThe $6 one at the bottom is a good one for small sites and costs less than a lot of SSDs. However, they go very quickly when they become available. I had to write a script to check every minute for availability.----However, as someone who runs a site for a living, I know it takes a long time to establish any site. It requires perseverance. For articles I don't know if there is somewhere that you might be able to get better coverage. One site I have seen is this:https://liberty.me/Which is a libertarian website that you can post articles too. My guess is it gets about 2-4k uniques per day. This is something similar, but I don't know exactly what it is and I think its a general site:https://medium.com/

I was thinking that you might benefit from a news/blog-type site to post your lengthy tomes on. Ass. I want space for articles, podcast feed, and videos. I like the way James Corbett does his website over at www.corbettreport.com. I would probably want to spice it up a little bit, as I find it a little boring. However, I like how the content is distributed in an easy-to-find fashion. Something like the way my current website is set up (www.crazyrogue.net), but I need something that requires my minimal input to keep running. That's why I'm interested in paying someone to set it up. If it can be set up in a way that all I need to do is upload and post my stuff, that would be awesome. A4E
You probably know this already, but first thing is to grab the domain name you would like. Be careful though, there are sites that steal and register the domains you search for, for then to charge you more if you want to have them. Professional hosting services will offer you a wide range of templates and whatnot to easily get a site started. I have not played around with that yet, but I would imagine that you would not typically need a programmer to get started with something professional looking that works well. Just watch some youtube videos on how to get started on a hosting website and you will see how easy it can be. You can take advantage of promotional ads that could save you 50% even for up to three years, which is what I chose to do. Though my hosting site does not seem to be running those promotions anymore. Take security seriously and make a password that is very strong.

I am seriously to the point where I don't even want to watch Youtube videos to figure it out. I've been down that road, and it takes too much of my time and I'm never happy with what I make. I literally want to pay someone else to do it.

How is my little crap site in comparison to what you're looking for? Bryangrusecki.name I've got a new video I'll be uploading on restringing a guitar and cleaning it for the newer guitar players (which I think it a GIANT leap in quality and clarity from my first video). I also post photography and blah blah. Basically, I'm still getting used to posting content and not looking like a total dummy, so if you look at anything please don't be too critical. :] Anyway, I promise that isn't a shameless plug. Take a look at my website briefly and focus on the layout and design. I'd be more than happy to take on the job, however I do work full time so nothing incredibly in depth; I wouldn't want to charge you an insane amount of money for building a website from the ground up as I do not have the time. I could charge a smaller fee to use a CMS (Content Management System) and find/alter a theme for you. I'd also be willing to sort of start the backbone of it by creating a menu of your liking, I'd just need you to do some basic layouts for what links you want, et al. I would be pretty happy with someone simple. Like I mentioned, I like the content layout of corbettreport.com (though I find it a little sterile aesthetically), and I like-ish the aesthetics of my website at crazyrogue.net, but I don't like the content layout. So basically something with a layout similar to Corbett's site, with some better aesthetic qualities (not necessarily themed like my site). I find your site has too much going on and I'm not sure where to focus my eyes. I think the menu on the left is taking up too much attention. Question about all these themes--I've noticed that the new fashion for websites is the have this infinite-scroll-down feature, where there is a big pretty picture in the background that takes up most of the screen and you scroll down to find small bits of information in the form of large icons. Is this the standard these days? They're very pretty, but they're really not that functional in terms of having a lot of content. Like Corbett Report or FDR or my own website, there is a fairly clear beginning and end to each page. If a page is long, it's because it has a lot of content to go through. With these themes that on the link you've provided, are they compatible with a site that's more content-heavy and has a clear bottom to scroll down to? I would say that's probably the most standard sort of layout for a website, but I disagree with it for the most part. Yes, in WordPress you can create static pages for anything you want. I should have specified when you're browsing themes you should look under wordpress, that seems to be the best solution for you (short of using mysql and php, which can get expensive). I honestly wanted a quicker method, which Is why I went with a CMS (WordPress), it took me a really long time to find a theme I thought was a solid, basic sort of base. After having some time off today due to an upper respiratory problem and a fever I was able to search through the sourcecode of the Corbett Report to determine it does use WordPress. Here is the exact theme he is using. He basically took away some stylization of it and moved a couple things around.
