D-Light Posted November 25, 2016 Posted November 25, 2016 Referring to the American system as Capitalism is like referring to the Russian Soviet system of Communism as Democratic Socialism.
AccuTron Posted November 26, 2016 Posted November 26, 2016 Norway was Nazi occupied. One of the primary bombing targets was a facility for making heavy water to then use for Nazi atomic bombs under development. It was in a very well protected steep mountain area, and bombing it was very difficult, and led to civilian casualties and not really hitting the factory. There was no easy alternative. A British(?) commando team finally did the deed, a story in itself worth investigating.
Blake Carrington Posted December 18, 2016 Posted December 18, 2016 It's depressing that there are people out there who take Varg seriously. But there's a lot of people out there who genuinely think that the economic success of any country is at the mercy of the US. Of course, they wouldn't go one step further and ask themselves what brought the US into such a position of power to begin with, and why is it that each time a communist and capitalist country cancel all trade the communists starve while the capitalists are inconvenienced at most. The US killed civilians in the second world war? News flash, Varg - that's what states do. The reasons the allies had for going to war with Germany were anything but humanitarian. His arguments about planned obsolescence and socialism making products of a better quality are ridiculous. The reason you don't see fridges from the 60s in capitalist societies is that the people living in them could afford to buy better, more cost-efficient fridges instead of having to spend money on maintaining a single one. The same goes for cars. I realize that most people on this board probably agree with me, but the amount of people around the internet who take this guy seriously really pisses me off at times.
