Has anyone tried Kialo.com?

It's branded as a place for rational discussion and thought on the internet. https://www.kialo.com I have participated in a few different discussions, but I'm undecided about how effective it is.

No, I haven't used it. Until you brought it up I didn't even know it existed.

However, after a few searches (about page, whois, 'fiecebook' page... etc) it's still unclear:

° Who is/are running the site?

° What is their track record?

° How and what do they gain from doing it?

° Ultimately, why they wouldn't just state all of the above mentioned in detail, easily accessible?

ps. On a second note, I am (even) less convinced of it's merits (, if that's possible) after having checked out their intro, alongside with this reddit discussion by 'James Damore' ("Could Kialo, a new platform purposefully made for Thoughtful Debate, be...")

I was going to create this thread because I found Kialo too, and I was wondering what people thought.

I've always wanted something like this, but it's not as effective as I thought, since trees are too big. In fact, if you search for something that is interesting and you don't know the arguments, it would be awesome if you saw if an idea really "wins" ... but using votes is a little difficult, I guess. Things should be proven by articles, documents, official investigations, books, etc. Not only votes.

I'm still thinking about it. Trying to search for info:

I just contacted them to ask for more information about it all and told them to add it to the website for easy access.
