Heiko Cochius

I live in Germany, close to Düsseldorf, am happily married and a father of two sons, 14 and 11 years old (in 2012).

I earn my living as a licensed psychotherapist. I work for a violence counseling center whose primary customer is the local youth authority (Jugendamt). I work with young sexual offenders and other victims of dysfunctional families.

I do that four days a week, so that I have more time for other activities.

These include thinking about various topics, for example philosophy, politics, psychology, economics. Occasionally I produce a video on these topics. My youtube channel is heikophilo.

Aside from studying psychology, I also formally studied philosophy at university, without getting a degree. I still love to think about philosophical problems.

From 1991 to 1992 I was a philosophy student at California State University, San José. That was a great year, especially for my personal development, because I had to organize my life totally on my own.
