The Obamacare implosion is worse than you think
Alan C. replied to Alan C.'s topic in Current Events
Obamacare woes widen as insurers get wrong data There is a reason why Obama is a politician rather than an entrepreneur (besides being a sociopathic narcissist). -

NSA’s thorn Glenn Greenwald to leave the Guardian, start his own website Glenn Greenwald announces departure from the Guardian It's great to see people like Glenn Greenwald, Ben Swann, Peter Schiff, Ron Paul, Alex Jones, and other independent journalists and news outlets gaining traction and giving people an alternative to the obsequious, fawning suck-ups in the mainstream news -- flack mouthpieces for the State that they are.

EBT benefit card glitch sparks Walmart shopping sprees in Louisiana Walmart shelves in Springhill, Mansfield, cleared in EBT glitch I thought that only the rich were greedy and the poor were humble. Is the FED creating & giving money to banks to finance entitlements?

The objective is to buy votes. -
I'm axious to hear how he solved the economic calculation problem without the use of market prices; a feat which no one but Ludwig von Mises has been able to accomplish in 100 years.

The ZM/VP fails completely on economics. There would be no money, making price calculation impossible. Society would disintegrate into grinding poverty. Murray Rothbard debunked the ZM/VP over 40 years ago.

Why does China keep letting the U.S borrow money?
Alan C. replied to aFireInside's topic in Current Events
The only plausible explanation that I've heard was from Peter Schiff. He speculated that politically-connected interests in China pressure their gov't to loan money to the U.S. so that consumers here will purchase their products. -
I don't think that Peter Joseph is deliberately trying to deceive; I think that he sincerely believes in the things he espouses. However, he is ill-informed and misguided.

Why are people frightened, I wonder? Why can't people intuitively recognize a prank when they see one?

Taxes are compulsory and, therefore, not voluntary. One cannot say "shrink to the size at which it would be efficient" because one cannot asses efficiency in the absence of profit and loss.Anarcho-capitalism isn't something that gets instituted; it simply happens when people stop aggressing against each other. That is historically inaccurate. The State did not get smaller and less invasive; it was precisely the opposite.

NAP Doesn't Apply to Children, Says Walter Block
Alan C. replied to Magenta's topic in General Messages
The problem with this kind of reasoning is that it attempts to establish the following principle: 'refusal to do something' or 'being a pain in the neck' is grounds for aggression.People with dementia can also be a pain in the neck. Is it ok to apply the same principle to people with dementia that Walter Block wants to apply to children?- 15 replies

"Grandmother used sledgehammer, knife to kill baby, prosecutors allege"
Alan C. replied to a topic in Current Events
Child abuse, murder, malnourishment, obesity, neglect, and squalid living conditions are commonplace in the U.S. I just read this today: Couple arrested after four malnourished boys who could only communicate in grunts are discovered in filthy apartment Also this: Texas boy, 10, ordered to walk on freeway as punishment -

I wouldn't waste any more time on Peter Joseph. He's a clown. Stef's analysis was very keen; the ZM/VP consists of frustrated children acting out (which seems to be endemic to Leftist movements).

1. Stimuli (eg. sights, sounds, memories, etc.) which trigger anxiety. 2. Blood sugar imbalance (eg. hypoglycemia) which causes an adrenaline release. 3. Vitamin deficiency (eg. D, B, iron). 4. Sleeplessness, insomnia. 5. Stimulants (eg. caffeine, drugs). 6. Stress and tension. 7. Depression. 8. Inflammation of various tissues. If you're asking what causes panic attacks to appear in the first place then I don't know the answer. My guess is that it's repeated exposure to something traumatic.
