Equivocation The funny irony is that, even under the corrupted system which you define as capitalism, millions of people didn't starve to death. Even funnier is that you don't have the slightest idea about how it was possible to build the computer you're using (nor do you care, apparently).

Stupid, unadaptive people are a threat only when they can use the force of the State apparatus to impose the costs their behavior and choices upon others. In a free-market, they'd bear the full costs, themselves.

Prescriptions for ADHD drugs double among adults

Doctor: ADHD Does Not Exist -
Robots replacing human labor is a good thing. It means that people can spend time doing things other than repetitive, menial tasks. Resource-based economy is unworkable, and Peter Joseph doesn't understand economics. It isn't possible to jump from the present state to the efficient state in one step.

Aviation is stuck in the 60s
Alan C. replied to Alan C.'s topic in Libertarianism, Anarchism and Economics
That reminds me of an article I read years ago about how most of the water and sewage infrastructure in the New England area is over 100 years old and literally crumbling to pieces, and another about how the DMV often uses computer systems which are 20 to 30 years old. -
Aviation is stuck in the 60s, a reflection on MH 370 This is another example of the stark contrast between 'power and market' as there is no free-market in air travel.

Lengthy Conundrums
Alan C. replied to SuaveFeline's topic in Libertarianism, Anarchism and Economics
While some use those terms interchangeably, and they share similarities, I'd argue that they're not synonymous. A voluntaryist community could conceivably exist in which everyone agrees to a property rights theory based upon 'occupation and use.' I don't agree with that property rights theory because it's devoid of moral considerations and also because it would discourage the deferment of consumption (which would undermine capital formation and long-term planning). -
Study: Los Angeles Worst City In US For Gridlock Who owns the roads, I wonder? The traffic on the freeways in SoCal is awful. If you drive on them during certain windows, it will be stop-and-go the whole way. I remember my dad complaining about traffic when I was a small child in the 1970s. That should give some idea of how long this has been a problem.

Report: DC's green-approved buildings using more energy Another enviro-scam designed to make some people feel better about themselves while fleecing others. The media often uses the phrase, "If it bleeds, it leads." Now they can say, "If it LEEDs, it bleeds."

Using PHP to figure out if capitalism works
Alan C. replied to Mark Carolus's topic in General Messages
The very fact that you're programming PHP on a computer attests to the efficacy of the capitalistic order of production. -
Anarchy and money (**with a twist)
Alan C. replied to afterzir's topic in Libertarianism, Anarchism and Economics
Perhaps you could elaborate on what you mean by straw man. Another reason why money is preferable to no money is that it permits the division of labor to extend beyond direct observation. -
