About Me
A new year (2010) brings me the impulse to re-write my "Bio." And, I have a new computer and this is my second re-write, as the first one (and my new thumbnail) both disappeared into cyberspace most likely never to return. Ah well, the same has had to happen with my whole take on life . . . And I have a new iPhone which has absorbed at least a couple of dozen hours of my (always-short-of) time trying to get around its limitations and advantages both.
My whole rather aged brain feels rather new. Freedomain Radio Podcasts and Forums have blown away many layers of accumulated dust off the original philosophical stance I once took and it may be that I am taking more steps on the rational path toward self-esteem and self-mastery. I am this January just finishing Nathaniel Brandon's Psychology of Self-Esteem and believe me, all and sundry should have read, be reading or be going to read this book. Stef said on the Brandon interview that this book was a major influence on his thinking. So I had to order it online that very day. When I finish it, I'm returning to my reading of Universally Preferable Behaviour. Getting the physical books in hand and hearing your own voice read the words in the studio of your inner auditorium, at your own pace, seems to aid understanding. Such is my personal report, anyway.
I look forward to another great year with FDR. May it be, I say, that I make more contact, perhaps even flying up to Mississauga sometime. The funds are limited, so travel costs can be painful. My wife is not in the best of health lately, and that will also restrict my reaching out toward others.
One thing that I've found remarkable is that my own self-interests have become so much more real to me. Paradoxically, the more I wanted to spend time on FDR, the better I felt about simply attending, instead, to my own life and business. If this is a cult, it is a category-breaking cult. In other words, this cult just could be reality, babes. A reality. A reality unlike the reality of death-and-taxes, which instead of oppressing the awareness, liberates and stimulates. Viva Molyneux!
