About Me
I was so moved by Stefan's arguments in favor of adherence to the non-aggression principle that I quit my (U.S.) government job (June 2011), and tried living off voluntary donations for as long as I could. I rode my bicycle half-way across the country (1300 miles from Jacksonville Beach, FL to Luling, TX) in support of the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation (NAPF) (http://www.wagingpeace.org) and the work of author and peace leader, Paul K. Chappell (http://www.paulkchappell.com). I attended the first NAPF Peace Leadership Workshop in Santa Barbara, CA, July 22-29, 2012 and then stayed in Santa Barbara until the end of February 2013. After that, I traveled back to Jacksonville, FL to sell-off the rest of what I could of my worldly possessions and eventually got back on the road in June, 2013 completing another stage of my cross-country cycling by riding about 400 miles through the central Texas hill country, creating a connecting route from my aunt and uncle's house in Weatherford, Texas (just west of Fort Worth) back to Luling where I left off in the summer of 2012. After a side-trip to Pennsylvania to help a friend hang sheet-rock, etc. in his off-grid house, I returned to Santa Barbara where I intend to stay for the next year or so, while preparing for what I hope will be the third and Final Stage of my cross-country bike trek, starting once again from Weatherford, Texas and traveling west until I make my way back to Santa Barbara and the Pacific Ocean. In the mean time, I am supporting myself with temp-work and living communally with like minded people.
