Thank you everyone for your suggestions. I'll give the Turtle Beach Ear Force X12 a try, if I can find them where I live. I was also thinking that they would be useful not only for the show, but also If I wanted to work from home and had a conference over the internet or something, sound quality would be very important too.
-
Given that there are some callers with really lousy microphones (myself included), which hinders the quality of the audio and ultimately of the show, albeit not significantly, I think it would be great if we could have some recommendations on which microphones to buy, pros and cons, value for price, etc.

I'm sorry I wasn't clear, I meant to say that I hoped to see serious opposition and a good challenge to Stef's ideas, but in the absence of that, I guess that there's some comfort on knowing that the opposition is not very good, which could be further evidence of the validity of the ideas. Also, for some reason I felt annoyed with your comment about how boring you think that my objective is. It's certainly your experience of my post, which is totally fine and valid, but I just wanted to share this with you and get your thoughts.

I'm still debating myself whether the debate was positive or negative. Negative in the sense that we didn't get to watch serious opposition to Stef's arguments, which may constitute a waste of time for the listener; or positive because we confirm one more time that there is no serious opposition, and that means that we are on the "right track". Does that make sense?

Elliott Hulse Video: "My Dad is Dying and I Refuse to Visit Him"
RealP replied to Gnostiphile's topic in Self Knowledge
I don't think that Elliot has enough information about the guy's relationship with his father to give him any useful advice.- 1 reply

Thank you for your response Jeff. -
Dear Freedomainers, I would appreciate your comments on the following:How can I go about this business of discovering what I want to do?

I enjoyed watching the movie very much and I think that it deals very well with the subjects of love, depression, loneliness, relationship with the parents, religion, abuse, etc.

I just watched Cinema Paradiso, and boy is that a tear jerker. The last 20 minutes are just wonderful, Toto comes back home to Sicily to bury his father figure Alfredo and he discovers all the things he loved in his youth: his cameras, his old bedroom, the bits of film that Alfredo had saved for him.

Thank you for your welcome. I remember watching that video: finally 12 years of completely boring history lessons came to life. -

Thanks man. Is that your MEcosystem on your profile picture? -
ows. Oops, I seem to have hit the tab button by accident, sorry about that. Anyway, as I was saying, it has been a long time coming, but I finally shelled out the big 20 (pause for applause). My name is Pablo, I live in Uruguay but I also am of Austrian descent. Before you say anything, no, I don't want to "put another shrimp on the barbie", I said Austrian, not Australian. I'm 24, about to finish my undergraduate engineering degree, work at an LPG distributor, live with my parents and my younger brother, I enjoy coffee with an episode of The Sopranos and my maltese dog is called Wendy. I first saw Stefan when he was dining with his family while I hid in the bushes outside of his house, but before that I had watched his debate with Jan Helfeld on Minarchism vs. Anarchism. At the time I considered myself an Objectivist and rooted for the Jan but I also felt threatened by Stef's arguments against Minarchism and so I decided not to watch more videos of him because that would mean opening a can of worms. Two years later, an anarchist friend of mine forced me to watch "The Truth About Voting" and I was blown away, it hit me at the gut level. After that I learned about his community Franklin Delano Roosevelt and started watching his videos about politics, then ethics, and finally I reached the creamy center: happiness, relationships, psychology. I can clearly see now the relationship between personal freedom and freedom in society and am convinced that this is the way to go if I want to help save the world. My objective is to meet and make friends with like-minded people, learn, teach, get inspired, cry, understand, empathize, sympathize, and the rest of the good stuff.
