You should just read Leviathan. It's one of the classics of political theory and will only make you more well read. Ironically enough Hobbes' argument is one of the first game theoretic type arguments ever made in modern PT (with such recognizable concepts as backward induction, non-credible threat and information asymmetries) and is praised for, if nothing else, its logical consistency. Your criticisms come off as someone ignorant of the actual argument Hobbes made.
