Hello all, I am looking to acquire the services of some professionals and want to offer my custom here first. I am looking for an accountant as my financial situation is becoming more and more complicated with land ownership, financial goals and crypto-currency investments. That being the case I would prefer someone with an understanding of crypto-currencies and related tech but would more prefer someone with long term success and decades of experience. On an un-related note I am looking for an artist. I have some ideas for what I think of as "capitalist and or virtue-propaganda" ( which may negate its definition as propaganda,? ) and my intention is to commission the works and circulate them online with a request and link to donate for their creation and propagation. I intend to turn a profit on the activity so that it can support itself. Everything is negotiable and if you are interested i'd love to see a portfolio of your work, I don't care if its of a physical or digital medium but if physical it would be your responsibility to deliver the end work in digital format along with some kind of legal transfer of rights to the image. I want to take this slow and do a single piece and not even consider another until I see how long it takes for that piece to pay for itself. Just adding my experience with Gnosticism; At the time I came across it I was in a very scattered place with cycles of euphoria and dysphoria, everything was in question and doubt including every aspect of myself. Gnosticism was a comfortable transition from my still un-escaped chains of Christianity and the perils of Agnosticism to ultimate atheism. I had to feel like I knew something, like I was certain of something. I loved that the word Gnostic itself was an assertion of knowledge and that all the writing or teachings relative to it were called and considered myths, only echoes of the truth. This helped me break myself from a "world of words" and instead focus on my behaviors and introspection. Gnosticism was of course a half measure but also a welcome methadone to the heroin of living lies I was coming off of.

I have some thoughts here, please let me know if they are helpful. IMO with the above statement you are applying general relationship rules to an exceptional relationship. The parents caused the child. I think parents have an obligation to accept (on matters of moral neutrality) their child they chose to create. The parents certainly have an obligation to want to know and succeed at knowing the emotional state and desires of the child. If the parents do not already know these things about their child then the first and ongoing greatest act of fraud is committed by the parents, the child is merely applying their principle to them. There are plenty of reasons outside of fraud for the child to come out of the closet IMO. I think being able to acquire and distribute the resources you need to meet the goals you set is healthy. Relying on a gravy train I think has alot of negative consequences like shock when it dries up and general dependency.

Running Linux for the first time, in April I installed Ubuntu to take advantage of what I assume is increased security while I explore crypto-currencies. I would like to transition into Arch-Linux ( what I understand to be the most secure ) next spring.

"From listening to Stefan's BTC podcast, I was under the impression that feedback, escrow, and e-commerce features were already built into the BTC architecture.." I am not sure whether it can or cannot, I know it has been updated to add things like Multi-signature wallets and there is alot of talk about implementing something called color-coins which should add alot of benefit and versatility. I have not heard any proposals for a reputation system with BTC. IMO its probable that the BTC block-chain could be updated with features like this, but we cannot guarantee that it will / can or would be prudent to do so.

BitMarket ( working name ) v 0.2 I prefer not to refer to this as a ‘coin’ as it is in no way a currency since the signals within burn on use, it is (I hope) an entirely new and innovative way to realize one more potential of block-chain technology. Proposal: Bitmarket would in simplest terms be a decentralized, trustless, reputation network. The method would be one of elegance, as has been shown effective with bitcoin. Do one thing, and do it right, consistently. Bitcoin is voluntary money, Bitmarket is voluntary identity ( or identities depending on one’s inclination ) of oneself and their associates. Before that scares too many off please allow me to make my case for why this system can and would work and only add to all that we already love about the crypto-space including the option of anonymity. > Independent Block-chain resting technology relying heavily on timestamps within the block-chain for regulation of certain features. > The unit within the network is called credits and is populated in every active node on the network on a regular basis. > Users spend credits to send positive or negative signals to each other in order for the market and individuals to establish reputation, relationships and organizations. > This technology relies on external ‘credit-agencies’ to emerge in the marketplace and compete for acceptance of their interpretation of what the network transactions mean to and for the market-place. For some variables like the amount of credits awarded to each node, whole numbers ( or thousands of them ) could have drastic effects on the network. For that reason I propose ‘momentum-voting’; with this function the network would start out at its genesis values and increase or decrease those values based on a historic average developed over time. Depending on the variable voted on updates to those variables could occur every x blocks which itself could be a feature voted on. Though it might be pointed out that after a long period of stability at one value it would be difficult to change that value if need be. But as time progresses so too should the size of the network and its capacity to build up momentum in whatever direction it so desired. This way the community could feel empowered to effect this system immediately and relative to the individuals effort and quality of argument to do so without coercion. Examples: frequency of credit generation amount of credit generation activation threshold for new address deactivation threshold for bad actors amount of award for transaction processors network processing difficulty ( this might be best left an unalterable value ) potential feature > good actor bonus > a possibly graduated reward relative to ones relationship diversity and perhaps reputation beyond a certain thresholds like 75% 80% 85% etc… ?’s I am still not getting it, even if this could be done why would I want it to happen and why participate? First off, tech like this appeals to the entire marketplace right now, not just people into the cutting edge, the revolutionary or the sound investment. From jr high kids to people buying and selling on craigslist we all understand the value of being liked and appreciated socially. This will allow people to realize extra value for every human interaction they engage with and encourage them to spend their own and others time wisely and with courtesy. This also has a zero paywall to entry, many people do not get into a tech like bitcoin because they to do not have the extra money to do so. This will get people using block-chain technology and becoming familiar with it in a fun, functional and economically productive way. Let me not gloss over the appeal to younger individuals who will lead the market-place soon enough. People in school are obsessed with social organization and will no doubt love being able to track and analyze relationships on a scale of this nature. And the more people involved the more value the rating agencies can provide the marketplace with data-analyzations of un-coerced human action. The reason to jump in now is because reputation is more valuable with a longer established history, and now while it is still easy is when you want to establish relationships with others like yourself who have put themselves in the path of the futures momentum. What about anonymity and real identity? It is my opinion that we all engage in varying degrees of market activity, whether it be grey, white black, social or economic. With this network one may establish as many nodes as they wish and choose to link them or not. Everyone would have their white market address they attach to their real identity and then if one so chose they could have one or more anonymous addresses for whatever purpose. Would’nt the credit agencies punish people for anonymous addresses? actually, there would be competing agencies and after the market got complex enough many agencies would specialize in providing interpretations of different perspectives of the market. Be it White, Black or the lumber industry or gaming or sports. So if you wanted to do business with an anonymous person you might not trust a white market agencies rating that has to pay lip service to common social norms and be weary of reprisal from contemporary power bases. If someone gets negative ratings whats to stop them from creating a new address and starting over? Nothing, but if someone attached their real identity or had robust enough pattern of behavior and relationships then the blockchain would not “know” that it belonged to the same user but it would be the business of the external rating agencies to know and publish said information allowing a potential trade associate to make the judgement. If someone operated with an anonymous ID and wanted to be taken seriously they would do their best to only interact with good players and be themselves, fair. Whats to stop people from spamming addresses and boosting their rating with the credit generated? Having to have so much positive feedback before an address goes live and starts to generate credits helps stem this right away. It would also be incumbent on the promoters of this tech to relay to individuals the value and possible permanence of their rating and how the external agencies would likely review past behavior possibly before they existed and attach to it an identity or punish it with negative feedback. During development a community would grow around this idea with lots of credits and the ability to “regulate” the network before the rating agencies were formed. when marketing this technology up front, making people very aware of the consequences. what about Bloat? Between new addresses needing to be activated, bad actors being deactivated, and external rating agencies having a large incentive and capacity ( due to increased stores of credits from the reward for processing the networks transactions )to punish users who try to game the system, and the fact that once spent credits burn and the incentive to hoard credits ( defense against malicious ratings ) I believe that the network could be kept to a manageable size. And since there are some questions we cannot know the answer to, the voting system allows future users to adjust the growth rate of the network based on what current tech can allow for.

Thanks for the reply and questions Lux, I am glad it got you thinking As far as where the money goes and what how will / should society treat the children, I don't think that matters or is practical to ask ( too far in the future to speculate ). The whole point is being able to call a spade a spade here and now and acknowlede that yes you have the gun today statey mcstaterson, but not forever. To have a public ledger ( and consequently market for comparison and forum for discussion ) that will forever record "super-crimes" those which are in any consistent framework crimes but which are just double-thought away in todays bass-akward society.

This is an idea I have been kicking around for a bit, it is not fully fleshed out but i just wanted to see what folks thought about it.Essentially the purpose of it would be to have a way for individuals to accuse others of crimes ( especially the ones that are not generally acknowledged as crimes today, or acted on; holding political office, being a cop, soldier, teacher anyone profiting from tax dollars .Though it would have to allow for anyone, the inceptive intent would be to make statists think twice before being statey. The idea being that a future more virtuous and just society might correct the judicial errors of past societies.examples:Your gonna take one for your lineage, become a senator and stash money away so your hiers can float on golden parachutes? lets make sure the world never forgets and maybe asks for the wealth back or they no play with your kids. Your going to sign up and take stolen money to terrorize people in other countries so your kids can go to colloge, you are also buying them a place in history. The purpose of this would not be to make the sins of the parent those of the child, in fact it would be doing the children ( should they be virtuous ) a favor letting them know the moral history of their progenators. The purpose would be to make statists in the here and now think twice before they act and give people in the here and now a way to take action.I would like to emphasize that I have no idea how the future 'should' act on that information. The primary purpose is in allowing a market gateway for some judicial action now even if its only observation, record keeping, and ordering the subjective magnitude of criminality by how many in the market throw how much wealth toward their prosecution.Technicals:this would have to be a cryptographic protocol that would rest on the Bitcoin blockchain in some way enjoying its robust distribution and thus resilience.I have some idea of what blockchain technologies are capable but am in no way an expert or close to it so please bear with me.To reduce blockchain bloat there would need to be a predetermined set of crimes, degrees, quantity of damages and a paywall where each accusation need be accompanied by a fee for blockchain processing. This would also mitigate frivolous use.what of evidence? evidence is presented at a trial not accusation, thats my excuse for I have no idea how to code evidence into a blockchain. But, that might not matter, I see this technology only being useful for criminals whose crimes are historic fact but are un-prosecutable in their lifetimes. anywho... this is just an idea I have had for awhile and thought I'd share, any ideas and feedback would be appreciated.

Open Path clients pay a one-time membership fee to work with an Open Path therapist at a significantly reduced rate."Personally I have not found it useful as I am stubborn about finding a Therapist with extensive experience and who specializes in IFS ( Internal Family Systems Therapy ) and the website does not have a filter for methodology or certs (that I can find). So right now I am relying on http://selfleadership.org and Psychologytoday.com ( find a therapist tab ). Though I am commited to finding a therapist so eventually I will use this tool if need be and provide first hand feedback.

I have to a degree come to Terms with my parents evil, but am at an impasse, and I potentially have a greater priority I should tend to.Growing up I abused my younger brother, physically hitting him, deriding his curiosity and sensitivity, I was wretched. When left alone I would torment him half the time then manipulate him the last half of the time into not telling on me. It was Evil, and I am ashamed of what I did but I won't let that shame cripple me from doing something about it. I want to do whatever I can to better him now however I can.Thankfully he would hear my apologies, and has has forgiven me. When he says that he forgives me I ask him for full accountability and I offer my support however he asks for it, I will never consider myself off the hook. Right now we skype once a week maybe once every two. And I can see the consequences of trauma in his life, behaviors and decisions. He was the youngest, and got it from the rest of the family.I was 5 years older, he had no chance, I had all the power and thats what I did with it, I have to do whatever is best because of my actions I am responsible, I cannot "make this right", I can only do the right thing now.Now that myself (the middle child) and our only older brother have told our parents they are not getting out of being judged for our childhoods, they have turned their attention to our youngest brother. Pouring attention on him that he never got as a child. There was always one "best" child chosen by Dad, sometimes me (as an adult) sometimes my older brother, never our youngest.Now our youngest brother who used to be the most critical and active regarding judging our Father at least [Mom never got any responsibility], Is embracing "the best relationship with him I've ever had". And still not judging a Mother who let all this shit happen. They have totally embraced his narrative of my Evils but have accepted responsibility for none of theirs, not in any meaningful way.I hesitate to tell my parents to get help or kick sand because I am afraid it could harm the relationship I have with my brother.I have offered to help pay for my brothers therapy, he shows no interest in going, and I am not sure how much I should try to convince him to go ( I have been bringing it up every once in awhile for months now ), so I freeze and ask you here on FDR for advice.Now I am finally in a place I can get therapy for myself and feel bad getting therapy for myself while he goes untreated. We have a good relationship I give him all my attention and support when we engage I try to be there for him as best I can.He is miserable at work and wants a change, every time we talk he has a new passion or want to move somewhere else. All of this is screaming to me that he needs to do internal work.When topics of our parents come up I do not change my history to make him more comfortable, I tell him they were to blame for where they failed and were actively Evil but that does not let me off the hook for my Evil actions toward him.Right now my best includes asking your thoughts on this manner and thank you very much.

I am so very sorry that your past attempts at telling someone has left you disappointed. hmmmmmmm, what about some kind of free social worker/gov provided counselor? I imagine there would be confidentiality and at the very least it would be nice to have someone hear your story face to face. Do you have health insurance? to my understanding he new healthcare laws might cover a couple trips to a mental health professional.If you are really looking to go it alone ( not recommended IMO ), I personally have found journaling very very helpful, as well as maintaining an internal dialogue throughout the day [if emotions are making my necessary day to day routine difficult I try to negotiate with them] , TOTAL self acceptance, never judging myself as a whole, merely in parts and in a gently critical and never vicious way.
