Mark Serene

I am 22 years old and live with my lovely girlfriend in Huntington Beach, CA. I currently work as a butcher and run dogs on my days off. Last year I started becoming an active force in my life, as opposed to the "dead fish" technique. I had periods of depression and anxiety which led to me leaving college, challenging the authenticity of my relationships and seeing their subsequent implosions (including the one with my parents, which is an ongoing struggle of "leaving the nest" financially and emotionally), and becoming much closer to knowing my true Self through journaling, therapy, and honest conversations with my girlfriend. 

I have been a drummer (yes, I laugh every time Stef picks on drummers), playing bar gigs and house parties for the last few years in a funk, punk, rock band. I also did a few comedy open-mics, but failed miserably at preparing anything.

I recently stopped drumming to focus more on my therapy and explore newer interests of mine, like psychology and philosophy.

Now, I want to learn about my self and reality. And, of course, I am here to meet some spiffy philosophers!
