  1. I really enjoy the ecology of the rain forest. I also like to explore the ancient cultures that used to inhabit that region. The Maya in particular. Last spring I was able to travel to a Mayan village in the Yucatan and learn about their culture. It was quite fascinating to see how similar their religion was to Christianity (They even use the cross as their holy symbol). It makes me wonder how these core beliefs may had been dispersed through the early parts of human migration. Perhaps the world has always been somewhat globalized.
  2. Look at that diverse group of police men. Totally racism. The other day I heard that in a near by town an elderly white man was killed by police because his can was mistaken for a firearm. Police negligence and brutality effects EVERYONE. It is absolutely terrible what happened here, the initiation of force in this situation can not be justified for any reason.
  3. Well Anarchy means no rulers (government) not no rules. Just like 5 year olds make up rules to their backyard games without an outside party. We will operate similarly... Following the non-aggression principle and property rights.
  4. Okay, Since I have gotten a bit of support. I think I will set it up. Vanilla. I wont be playing on it much during the week but will try to keep it up 24/7.
  5. So I have started bitcoin mining about 3 days ago with not much success. The program I was recommended " Gui Miner" is acting very finicky (It closes when I click the gui a certain way). Could someone please recommend me a new Mining Client? Or how to properly use this one?
  6. I loved this show, to bad only 8 episodes. Reminded me a lot of Dexter.
  7. I live in a small town near Dallas and I saw them protesting on an overpass. I don't think they are racist for these protests, they just don't want people to come here illegally and then participate in social programs. I am totally for what they are protesting. As long as the state exists people, who do not go through the legal process of becoming a "citizen", will cause social and economic issues. It is sad but true. Watch Stefan on the Peter Schiff Show: Start at 30:34, he explains why illegal immigration is an issue and needs to be dealt with, in a statist society. Don't try an start something... You have nothing to gain. Firstly, they won't understand you. Secondly, they are some of the only friends we have (By that I mean belief in minimal government and capitalism). The best thing we can do to help the fight for freedom is to make allies. We didn't join FDR because Stefan mocked us and humiliated our ideas, he simply stated facts and asked questions.
  8. Where I live in Texas we are under serious drought warnings. We are only allowed to water once a week. However no one follows this and is hardly inforced. Yesterday we got an amazing foot of rain.... Nature can fix itself.
  9. Earlier this week I was thinking about how taboo Nazism is in Main Stream America. Rightfully so. The Nazi's killed millions of people, we as a society should look down upon these actions, PERIOD. However this is not the case. If society truly believed we should condemn mass murderers, we wouldn't see people wearing Sickle and Hammer shirts or flying a Soviet Flag down the streets of New York. The Soviets killed and imprisoned 2 to 3 times as many people as the Reich ever did. So why do we have a double standard? For some reason there is a global understanding that Nazism is a Right Wing Ideology. I could not find a good definition of the Right, they either pertained only to the Republican Party or included name calling (Racist). Most definitions however stated that the Right Wing is opposed to Big Government and Socialism. If the Nazis where indeed Right Wing they would be small government Capitalists but, we all know this is not the case. Nazi is the short way of saying National Socialist. And we all know what a socialist is! THE LEFT! For some reason "our stupid monkey brains" think "ooh mi thinks nazi iz rite wing cuz day hate Komunzim (and a bearded professor says so)". The reason The USSR and Nazi's hated each other was because they differed in the opinion of the means to end. USSR wanted global socialism for all, Nazi's wanted global socialism for Aryans. Plus, there cant be two Authoritarian super powers bent on world domination! So, WWII ended with the fall of the Reich and then 46 years later the Soviet Union collapses. These dystopian human experiments are condemned by all nations of the world for their evil, and we move on as Free Capitalist Societies... because the loser doesn't write history. NO! Or at least not really... "Nazism is Evil because it is some how Right Wing and because it is Right Wing it is Racist and .... Republicans are in fact sexist and racist! Therefore, we should vote Democrat because Communism/ Soviet Socialism is a glorious experiment that has never been tried." "Well didn't they try it in Russia?" "No, because that wasn't real communism and this is America and it will be better." ~ Every conversation with a Leftist I have ever had. Congratulations USSR you are the first loser in history to WIN! If any one could direct me to, or provide me with some non-biased factual information about the psychology for this ridiculous phenomenon that would be very helpful. This has really been bothering me lately... Why do we hold this double standard?
  10. This is the weirdest thing. At first it was the Rebels, the the Russians, then some sort of freak accident. No-one can find the indestructible "black box", and the Rebels have secured the crash zone.
  11. "Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. 4 For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience. " ~ Romans 13: 1-6 Blue = God put our leaders in place and we should submit to them. Red = Because god put our leaders in place rebelling against them is the same as rebelling against god. Green = Leaders wont punish you unless you conform. Cyan = Because this is the will of god... The government knows whats best for you. If you want to think against the grain watch out because governments can justify the use of force. Purple = For all these reasons, YOU MUST OBEY THE GOVERNMENT! Not just because you could get shot or go to prison but because... I SAY SO! This passage just further backs up the theory that religion is a catalyst of control. What better way to tell your citizens to obey you other than telling them its your divine right? By this logic, all of the mass genocide that has been carried out by the state is justified. Hitler, Stalin and Hussein where just enacting gods judgement on "wrong doers".
  12. The other night I watched a great movie from 1966 called "Born Free". It was a true story about a how a couple raised a Lioness, Elsa, and released her in the wild when she reached maturity. The story begins in Kenya when a a British game warden named George Adamson is tasked in hunting down a "Man eating Lion". George kills both Male and Female lion orphaning 3 cubs that he brings back to his wife Joy. Joy ends up favoring the runt of the litter, Elsa and build a special bond. The Adamsons tend to the three orphaned lion cubs to young lionhood, and, when the time comes, the two largest are sent to the Zoo, while Elsa remains with Joy. One day, Elsa frightens Elephants into stampede that destroys a village. John Kendall, The Adamson's boss gives the couple a few months to either release Elsa back into the wild, or send her to a zoo. Joy strongly apposes sending her to a zoo because she believes because Elsa was born free she should live free. They try and acclimate her to the wild with no success. She had been fed all of her life and was unable to catch food on her own. One day the Adamsons decided to leave Elsa alone in the wild for a week to see if she would get hungry enough to hunt on her own. The returned a week later to find an emaciated Elsa. They go-on through dialog which is the subject of this review: Joy Adamson: Elsa, Elsa [Joy cries sitting out on the hood of the truck as they ride in search of the young lioness] George Adamson: Let's try this. [2 shots ring out from his gun. George sees Elsa stumbling through the grass, approaching their vehicle] Joy Adamson: all my nightmares had come true. [Now Elsa rests in their tent as they argue over her] George Adamson: ...she can't make it. she can't think. she can't mix with her own kind... She can't do anything the wild animals do to survive. You've done too good a job on her. You've made her tame. It's too late to try to let her go wild now. All we're doing is making her miserable, torturing her. How could you be so cruel? Joy Adamson: You keep quiet George. George Adamson: I don't know what goes on in that head of yours anymore... What's wrong with a zoo, anyway? Joy Adamson: nothing. Except that she won't be free. George Adamson: and Is freedom so important? Joy Adamson: yes, yes, she was born free and she has the right to live free. Why don't we live in a more comfortable setting George? Other people do. We chose to live out here cause it represents freedom for us. Because we can breathe. George Adamson: Joy, tell me the truth. You just don't want to give her up. What you're really hoping is that she can stay out here, wild, but not too wild. That you can see her every now and then. Joy Adamson: it's not the whole truth. But I don't deny I'd like it. George Adamson: it's impossible. It cannot happen. Joy Adamson: ...at least she would be free. At least she wouldn't be in a cage for the rest of her life. George Adamson: even if she gets herself killed in the process. Joy Adamson: [stroking Elsa's leg] I'd never forgive myself I suppose. [Joy narrates] Joy Adamson: although at one time we were afraid she'd die, Elsa did recover. And when she did, she seemed somehow different. By different she was able to make her first kill and was now able to feed herself.... She was then freed! When I listened to this dialog I could only think of our current welfare state. The government, with intent to "help the poor orphans", takes away peoples ability to "hunt" and provide for themselves by making them more or less like a domesticated Animal that depends on the Master for food. Take the the American Indian community for example, at one time they rode the plains free hunting and farming, now they have been living on reservations for the last century collecting government checks and losing their culture of strength and self sufficiency. Childhood Obesity and Heart disease has become prominent in Indian communities. It is likely that this generation of children will die before their parents. These are all detriments of the inability and loss of desire to "hunt" ... Thanks to 200 years of guilt! Way to go Welfare State! Much like how dogs have been domesticated; people on government aid lose their desire and ability to provide, and willingly step inside cage that leads to the domestication of a once proud, industrious, and free species. "Born Free" is a good movie for the whole family, especially children enjoy. The movie is currently on Netflix if you want to see it.
  13. Schools do this to limit intimate relationships on campus because it can cause distractions in academics. In my experience with schools like these "Boys can be Boys" in the since that normal male behavior is encouraged (i.e. Rough recreational games and personal "bro to bro" conversations). Typically there is a near by sister school that caters to the opposite sex. These schools will share dances, sporting events, and other academic activities to allow both sexes to build healthy relationships. When I think of single sex schools I think of ones such as Brophy or St. Marks which hold high expectations for their students and are known for a majority of their students getting professional degrees.
  14. First I need to get a rough starting number of people to find out how much RAM I need to allocate. Then we need to decide on vanilla or use a mod pack.
  15. So glad to see other gamers here! When ever I play Minecraft (Typically modded ex: Voltz) with my friends we usually split off into multiple "nations" based on our beliefs/interests. These nations typically have 5 people living in them and will periodically go to war. The nations also have times of peace and trade with one another. To explain a typical game, I will have a friend that chooses to create a Communist Nation (Arstotska), another a Fascist Nation (Austratt), and me typically a Voluntarist Nation dubbed "Libertaria". All of these nations follow these economy types. For example, in my nation we have no centralized government like in the other two. Protection and services is provided by businesses and corporations. There are no Taxes, but there is a charity donation in which people donate supplies voluntarily to construct roads and build walls. Libertaria typically has the largest and wealthiest economy. However we usually lack a strong offensive but make up in defense ( Following non-aggression). We promote self-protection of property and suggest that private citizens build their own defenses if they wish. This is always really fun but also almost always ends in broken friendships LOL. My friends have an adequate knowledge of economy and government but not enough so that we can create the picture perfect idea of an anarcho-capitalist society. Crap always ends up in voting, then eventually a power grab. I would like to try creating a society like this in either vanilla or modded to put FDRs knowledge of free-market principle and anarchy to the test. Would anyone be up for something like this? It would be a great learning experience to see what a voluntaryist society might look like.
  16. Any one be up for Brave New World? I cant find you on steam Stob...
  17. Funny you speak of "Oaths of Fealty".... Here is a Fascistic "poem" from the common core standards. Text genre, features & theme to explore We learned more with common core. Fractions, decimals, journal prompts galore We learned more with common core. RUNNER & CUBES are strategies for Learning more with common core. Vocab words like (clouds, organs, force), & omnivore We learned more with common core Economy, government, Revolutionary war We learned more with common core. So many new concepts to explore We learned more with common core.
  18. Sadly, I am currently going through the public education process. Thankfully I will be done within a few short years... Anyways, when I was in the 3rd grade a large part of our curriculum was cursive writing. Our teachers always told us we would need cursive for the rest of our lives and be actively practicing cursive throughout our "School Careers". However when I reached the 4th grade this was not the case... Cursive Writing has been completely erased from the curriculum in public schools. After about 2 years all that was learned of Cursive by my peers had been lost, unless parents had been teaching them aside from their normal curriculum. For this I have one question: Why has the state found it fit to stop teaching part of our language? I have thought about this for quite some time... Conservative radio hosts claim that the government is taking away the ability to read The Constitution, While others typically on the "Liberal" (I hate the miss use of this word in american politics so much) side of the argument say that cursive is obsolete and in the way of progress in our computer age. I personally have used my knowledge of cursive writing to read my Grandmothers memoir of her families journey to emigrate from the Weimar Republic to the US, and of their struggles to survive the Great Depression in a poor German community. So for me, cursive writing is a vessel of knowledge and highly revered. What do does Freedomain Radio think? Is the state trying to take away our ability to read and understand our founding documents? Or is it a useless chicken scratch that has no use in the modern age? Maybe something else?
  19. I have found it hard to understand left-wing anarchism such as anarcho-socialism. The ideology contradicts. The way I think about it is: Say I have a runny nose. I take MY tissue out of MY pocket and blow MY Nose. Now say a greasy haired hippy takes MY tissue from MY hand and blows HIS Nose. Six instances of private property down to the most personal levels. For Anarcho- socialism to exists means that everyone must be in compliance to a "social contract" if you will. Meaning that: Say I have a runny nose. I take THE PEOPLES tissue out of THE PEOPLES pocket and blow THE PEOPLES Nose. Now say a greasy haired hippy takes THE PEOPLES tissue from THE PEOPLES hand and blows THE PEOPLES Nose. Stefan has even said we would not redistribute body parts, so neither should we redistribute wealth. Because morally they are equivalent. ITS THEFT, regardless. Unless everyone is in full robot like compliance (knowing how humankind deals with scarcity, NO!), other wise a governing structure must be put into place to redistribute property by use of coercion for cooperation. Anarcho-Capitalism however to me, seems to be the purest form of anarchy, in which you are free to: Take YOUR tissue out of YOUR pocket and blow YOUR Nose. Now say in the same anarcho- Capitalist society you don't believe capital should be the main motive for production, You are free to go off and: Take THE PEOPLES tissue out of THE PEOPLES pocket and blow THE PEOPLES Nose. There are a reason why there are no Anarcho-Capitalist regions in collectivist countries (It requires 100% participation and cooperation), however in Capitalistic countries like the US, have allowed Anarcho-Socialist communes to exist along side the established economy.
  20. There is no way to eliminate the poor. However being poor is all relative. Take the third worlds poor and compare that to the US poor. Big difference. With capitalism in the US we have been able to make being poor less of a hardship and more of an inconvenience. Basically what I'm trying to say is a capitalist society cannot eliminate the poor and make everyone rich. If all the lowest people in my country make 1 Million USD a year and the highest make 1 Billion USD a year then the people that make 1 Million USD a year are still poor compared to the top earners. But in this crazy scenario being poor basically means as opposed to buying a 500 Million Dollar house, you have to cut back to the 2.2 Million Dollar house. So its all relative... Hope this helps, take it with a grain of salt.
  21. Hmmm.
