  1. Memes will flow through 4chan's /pol/ forum if reddit fails.
  2. www.infowars.com - Alex Jones has been running a successful news program for a while now. Vox Day has talked about setting up parallel institutions to the ones that are SJW infested.
  3. You have to ask the person why. Logically, if your favorite color is orange, it means that you like orange more than any other color. This is similar to any kind of preference, like music, movies, clothing, sexual orientation, etc.
  4. hey Castus, Have you considered talk therapy about in regards to your anxiety and depression? Speaking from personal experience, I went in for therapy and it did wonders for my confidence, self-esteem, and self-worth. I broke up with my girlfriend after realizing I had a toxic relationship - though the therapy was tough, I felt loads better!
  5. And here's a photo of an aborted fetus **WARNING EXTREMELY GRAPHIC** http://shoebat.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/D-and-E-abortion_645_430_55.jpg
  6. Junglecat, There's no rule on telling people, "read this" or "reading that." I find it an ineffective method of disseminating information, and this doesn't just apply to you - but to everyone else as well!! What do you mean that the biblical stories are told from the point of view of the victim? What do you mean by the archaic stories are told from the point of view of the mob? Can you elaborate specifically on it in one of the stories you cite? From what I understand of "the point of view of the mob," I see the Passion of Christ as a tale from a mob perspective, where the Jew mobs wanted Jesus crucified - and got their wish.
  7. Hey junglecat, welcome to the boards! Christianity and archaic religion are actually the same in this respect. The greatest example of this is in the Passion of Jesus. In fact, Christianity is entirely based on an innocent man being sacrificed to bring salvation for all of humanity. An example of sacrificing the innocent bringing prosperity can be found in the story of Abraham and his son Issac. Where Abraham was to sacrifice his innocent son because God had commanded him to do it, only to be stopped by one of God's angel (I don't recall who it was) who stopped him the moment he was to sacrifice Issac. Because Abraham was willing to sacrifice his son, Abraham was promised by God that his descendants will be as numerous as grains of sand on a beach (or something like that, basically there's going to be a lot of them) and that they will conquer the Earth. I don't know what Christianity you're talking about. You have a lot of knowledge regarding this Girard fellow, know his arguments, and clearly have a strong passion regarding his work. Reading through the posts and speaking for myself, this board is rather confused as to what you are talking about. If I were you, I'd spend some time creating a tl;dr version of his work. Resist the temptation to say, "read this article," or "read this book," or "look up this theory," because I guarantee you most of the people here on the board (and even in your everyday life) will not read this or that; there's just not that many hours in the day. If it's so important for people to understand what you're talking about - it's about connection. Here at FDR, we don't take anything for granted. In this thread, you're bringing up a new theory; my suggestion for you (and you can do what you want) is to define everything so that there's no ambiguity.
  8. I would consider getting yourself into therapy if you are not already. Given that your feelings are what drive your desires, an examination of your feelings and internal workings would do you the most amount of good.
  9. Well done Joel. Fantastic post! I agree. I love how you pointed out that immigration is a government policy. So long as there exists a government, there will be the initiation of the use of force, even with an open borders policy.
  10. One possibility is that the empty feeling you feel is justified. If you looked at your day, would you say you were happy with what you were doing? I'm guessing if you spent the whole day on the PC, you wasted your day. And that's okay! These things are okay to do from time to time. For you, you probably do too much of this stuff. You want to change, I can see that, but it's not going to be easy. In fact, it's going to suck - but it beats the alternative. The PC is one of my weaknesses, and I've lost many a days on it. I was on the computer one day, wondering what I was doing with my life. I was feeling self-pity, despair, worthlessness, and all these depressive feelings. I thought to myself, well fuck, I didn't do anything with my day. I got angry, and told myself: my life is my own, I should be a man and live on my own. (Currently, I'm living with my parents, so moving out is a goal of mine). Like I'm in charge of my own destiny, why not go and do what others do effortlessly? Straight up go and try it!! The instant I set out to do what I was avoiding, the moment I tried it, I knew instantly why I didn't do it. Anxiety washed over me like you wouldn't believe. For myself, I've noticed an ebb and flow to my emotions, I have despair and self-pity on one hand when I don't do anything with my day, on the other hand I have anxiety and panic. It's a shitty situation, for sure, it's painful as hell - probably the most painful thing I've ever done. I bounce back and forth, sometimes the anxiety gets the better of me and I stop what I'm doing - but then I realize I hate the feeling of self-loathing more and get back to it. As shit as the situation is, I've gained some valuable insight - I've learned a bit more about my emotions and how they work. (anxiety vs depression) I take some pride in that. You may feel like you're stuck, and that your feelings are so far away from you - that's just not true. If you don't believe me, just try doing those things that you are avoiding: trusting your therapist, looking that therapist deeply in the eyes, not spending hours on the computer, relaxing your mind and body. You may be skeptical, but entertain me at your next therapist session. Just go ahead and trust him, look into his or her eyes. Screw what's holding you back! Do it! See what happens. I don't know if you'll react with anxiety like myself, but you will know, deep down, what your reaction is. It's so hard, I know! I know! I want you to know you can do it and I believe in you!! Where you're at is wonderful, please don't take this as a chastisement or anything of that sort. Understand that self-knowledge is going to be the HARDEST thing you're ever going to do. FDR is not for the faint of heart. You, neeeel, are not faint, nor are you weak. Be gentle to yourself, and your progress. Don't chastise yourself but be HONEST. Look at what you're doing without negative judgement, when you do spend that time on the computer rather than on your goals, don't get down on yourself. Acknowledge it, accept it, and plug on!
  11. Hey Neeeel, I wanted to point out a few things that I've noticed (my opinion, and subject to correction), but before that, let me give you accolades on going into therapy! That's a big step in and of itself, and shows that you have a commitment to self-knowledge and healing yourself. Additionally, congratulations on "getting emotional" with your therapist. Yes, it may have only been two or three times, but that is nothing to scoff at. I think you are growing to trust your therapist, as proven by your following statement of "lying in bed." It sounds like you heard your therapist's observation of you not being able to relax and tried it. That night, were you actively trying to relax? Also, these feelings of being pathetic and useless - do they usually come at night?
  12. I liked the video a lot. When I saw the board at first I was like "okay - not a bad list." But once he started comparing it to people's actual behaviors, a lot of those moral rules fell away. It was brilliant in the way that it takes society's moral commandments and strips them one by one - leaving us with "don't hit dogs," "don't burn religious books or flags," and "only body shame pretty folk" which I thought was particularly funny!
  13. I live in San Jose!! Sacramento is a bit far, but still... Saying hi!
  14. I would take the money. Money that comes from the State is in a state of nature. It was stolen to begin with, and now exists in a general pool where everyone is taking whatever they can. In the words of Steve Miller: "go on, take the money and run!"
  15. Here is a listener convo about a woman who had a dream about the holocaust following her lack of saying something to an abusive parent. http://www.fdrpodcasts.com/#/1008/the-holocaust-dream-a-listener-convo I haven't finished it yet, but I will follow it up with a TL;DR!!
  16. Remember that you are not obligated to respond to people who make immoral, stupid, or crazy statements. There is no right way to respond to people with such opinions - since they are not opinions at all, but psychological defenses. I think your move with the facebook guy is a good idea. Personally, I try to gauge people, trying to get a feel for how much truth one person can handle. Think of it in Star Wars terms: morality is like a lightsaber. If you're familiar with Star Wars, only jedi can effectively wield the power of the lightsaber - people who are not jedi (not proficient in the Force, i.e. knowledge) end up cutting their own limbs off with it. Don't spar people with your lightsaber who are not Force-Sensitive: their limbs will end up being lobbed off either by your hand, or theirs. The lightsaber is the most powerful weapon (in conjunction with the Force) a single person can wield. If you want to go out and be a force for good (a Jedi Knight) and fight the evil Sith (illusion, irrationality, myth), you need training, support, and discipline. Welcome to the Jedi Academy of FDR!! PS I think I may have gone too far with the Star Wars metaphor, but the lure of the metaphor is hard to resist!!
  17. How humiliating this must be for poor William... As if the admission wasn't enough - those photos are horrendous. I can barely even read this article - what a disgusting narcissist.
  18. Here's another way to slice this pie, I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but I thought it was quite hilarious: If "A Feminist's" intention is to "un-blind" the world to a reality that is deeply embedded in our culture (a cultural ideal that has been around since the beginning of time), shouldn't she be patient and gentle while she explains her point-of-view, especially since it is so shocking? If something is so embedded, as A Feminist believes it is, how can she logically say, "I don't have to explain it to you, you have to figure it out yourself. You have to unravel 10,000 years of human history by yourself. If you don't, you are evil." I think that taking a person's statement as true and then asking questions that don't add up is an excellent way to find out whether someone is worth debating/talking to.
  19. Tom Woods put it really well, in regards to the infamous "who will build the roads" question: "If we didn't have forced labor, the argument runs, there would be no roads. There'd be a Sears store over there, and your house over here, and everyone involved would just be standing there scratching their heads."
