Debt: dun-dun-dunnnnnn! - But I refuse to pay?
Befree replied to ellisante35's topic in General Messages
Ok, I’ll use the word “truth”, so there’s no confusion here. The “truth” is that even if he repays that stolen currency (via inflation tax that the bank initiated), that money will not make it back into your and my bank accounts. The bank is just going to pad their own pocket books. And that bank isn’t going to destroy the money that it created, and the odds are that the value that the loaned individual creates throughout his/her life’s labor will not come close to creating the value that was destroyed by the initial theft. And the value that “is” created by that individual will have some kind of perverse incentive behind it. (Like the creation of a bomb instead of a coat) And to make it worse, the bank is going to take his repayment as 10% down on the next loan, which justifies the printing of another 90% of currency into existence for the next loan. Believe it or not, they typically do require 10% of real currency down on a future loan. And his choice to repay continues the pattern of abuse by incentivizing selling more snake oil to some uneducated 18 year old who doesn’t understand how the currency system works. And don’t compare an 18 years olds moral capacity …Oops… sorry… “truth” capacity to say, for example, a CEO at a banks. To make a comparison to murder, the banker would be committing 1st degree murder and the 18 year old 3rd degree, because the banker is more self aware of the act of theft. Meaning the banker deserve a harsher punishment for selling stolen currency while the 18 year old probably didn’t understand he was accepting stolen goods. It’s a simple risk assessment, from the standpoint of truth. If he repays the loan he hurts himself, and the next 18 year old who accepts the snake oil, by initiating future theft. If he rejects repayment he hurts himself (ruined credit and so on) and the bank. And that rejection of payment hurts the two guilty parties and doesn’t incentivize the creation of more inflation, theft, and enslavement. And not to mention the perverse incentive, which created the bomb, instead of the coat. I’ll try to simplify this. If repays: he hurts the future kid, himself and rewards the banker. If me doesn’t repay: he hurts himself and the bank (guilty parties). And don’t argue for you and me. The money has already been stolen from our bank accounts. The least we could do as moral agents (sorry, “truth agents”) is help the kid by trying to stop future inflation and enslavement. Stop the pattern of abuse! Don’t pay back the loan if you have the courage. -
Graphical Intro to Philosophy in various languages. Artists wanted!

I think it's a good idea. You should post a script or rough storyboard to sell your idea further. Animation is a lot of work you know. Your idea might be an easier sell if an artist had a precise idea of what/how you wanted to achieve your goal.- 10 replies

Debt: dun-dun-dunnnnnn! - But I refuse to pay?

I would say that taking out the loan, to begin with, was the initiation of force (government backed or not) and was immoral. Not because you choose to not pay it back, but because that currency you agreed to pay back, never existed. It was typed into existence on a keyboard and you probably initially accepted it not knowing that it was counterfeit. Don’t trade your real labor to repay their money colored toiled paper. Don’t spend your whole life working a job you hate chasing currency that doesn’t exist. Let me rephrase that. Even if you chose to repay your loan there isn’t enough money in existence to pay it back. So, don’t be a slave to their stupid game of musical chairs. I agree, don’t pay it back. Stick to your principles. Ignore the naysayers; they are just too invested in the current theft system to accept what’s right in front of their face. That either choice you choose to make is immoral. So you might as well make the immoral choice that benefits you and not the “people” who own five houses and a small flotilla of yachts. That being said, if you do choose to repay it, think about paying the minimum and/or waiting till high inflation and pay it back then. Good post topic. I enjoyed it. -
Thanks. I appreciate that. Yes, I use Photoshop. I’ve been trying to move out of paper and into the digital realm of the craft. Mainly I’ve been doing digital painting but I incorporate some photo manipulation. I’d probably do more photo manipulation if had access to more/better stock photography. I should probably join shutter stock or something. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen David Dees before, but his work looks familiar. I like his satirical style. I can relate. Thanks for pointing him out.

I'm now officially a deviant. Thanks for the advice. http://ich-media.deviantart.com/gallery/

I'm glad you enjoyed it. It's hard to get feedback from people who aren't my immediate family, so that's music to my ears. Thanks. Yeah, beginnings are tricky. I did a couple of re-writes on it, originally, and decided less was more. But that may not have been the right decision. It was difficult to establish the setting without an establishing shot/context outside the house, or just telling the audience what the book was about. I think I was afraid it would give too much away. Thanks again for your response. I’ll be eager to hear what your girls thought of it.

If you'd still like to see "Inside Out Side Cat", I've created a youtube version. Here it is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=no_i4ha7KJk

Thanks for your interest Ritchey. Out of curiosity, can you open a .mobi file? I’m assuming you’re on PC or kindle hardware? Either way, I'll definitely consider releasing PDF version. Or, maybe a video version for youtube. That might be the easiest way for people to see/preview it.
-
Thanks. No, do you think I should pursue that? I'll look into it.
-
Yes, I can do that. The biggest problem with PDF format is it doesn't allow the read along audio/visual, but I could definitely work something out. I've already built a site that I’m waiting to launch. I'm mainly just concerned if all that is worth my time. Getting feedback on my work is near impossible. I'm beginning to think I’m going to have to pay people to read my book. Has anybody else read or listened to the book? A thumbs up or thumps down would be highly appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for your responses Luxfelix and Brentb. The career advice is very helpful. And thanks for those links; I’ll be checking them out. However, at this point, I don't think I have the wind in my sails to start a cartoonist career from scratch. I'm hoping they'll at least be a portfolio builder. I mainly wanted to share what I’ve created, with people who might be able appreciate them. Brentb you're right, my work is a little too dark. I should have had a dark comedy disclaimer or something. Sorry, to anybody who's day was darkened by my comics. That being said, here are a few more if your interested.

Hello, freedom fighters I've been trying to reinvent myself lately. And, a few weeks of that time, I had the brilliant idea of becoming a cartoonist. That would be a fun career! Right? Then I did some more research and realized that it's near impossible to make a living doing that kind of work. Anyways, I decided some of my comics where becoming dated and should see the light of day, rather than continue hiding on my hard drive. I'll post some of them. If you like them, leave a comment, and I'll post a few more. If you don't like them, I'm also eager to hear your opinions of the comics from my failed cartoonist career. Or if you would also like to post your work, i'd be very happy to see it. Thanks. I hope you enjoy them.

Hello villagewisdom, thanks for your response. It should work on your ipod if you have an up to date version of ibooks. However, you might have a hard time seeing the text, because the screen is so small. If you have a Mac, you can download Maverick and view it on your computer, off ibooks. Other than that, there might be an app that will allow you to use it on a non-epub3 supported device (like a kindle or PC). I do have a kindle version specifically for Amazon, but it doesn't have the audio/text highlighting. Amazon has different standards and I haven't jumped through all their hoops to get the book up on audible with the whispersync just yet. I did all the writing, illustrating, summary and narration myself. The Adobe creative cloud was very helpful. In fact that's essentially all I used from start to finish. (not necessary but it might be a good investment) Photoshop, indesign, and audition being the most important. The only thing I contracted out was the "read aloud" coding. The HTML was over my head, so I had someone else do that. (well worth the money to pay someone. I was bashing my head against the wall trying to do it myself). If you are lost on a project you are doing, check out "Elance". That's where I go when I need to find a freelancer. You have a huge range of price ranges to deal with on there. You can outsource to India if you’re on a tight budget or use someone in the country. Either way, it's a good resource. I know how you feel about Marketing. It sucks. I even studied it in collage and I still feel lost and overwhelmed. I'm not even sure if I should undertake it at all. I was hoping to get some feedback of the book before I even get started.

Hello everybody, Would you like a free copy of my children’s Read Along ebook? I don't have any kids of my own, so I was hoping to test this book out on yours. Yes, that's right, you FDR listeners have the opportunity to be the first to review my book. (Pretty please!) Maybe you could give it the "virtue test", and let me know if its any good, or just plain sucks. If you're feeling lazy, you don't even have to read it, you can just press play and have me read it to you (Because its a read along). Whatever comments you'd like to leave would be highly appreciated (as harsh as they may be). Or even better, you could leave a review on itunes, amazon or kobo. I'm trying to decide if I should invest my time or money into marketing this thing, or let it go the way of the Dodo and move on to whatever failed venture is next. Here's an iTunes Link: https://itunes.apple.com/us/book/inside-out-side-cat/id931613423?ls=1&mt=11 If that link doesn't work, search "Inside Out Side Cat" on ibooks and it should pop up free for download. It's an epub3 file, so it won’t work on all eReaders. Sorry. Let me know if you have any technical difficulties. Here's a little back-story if you’re interested: I started reviewing kids books earlier this year, and it occurred to me that most kid’s books are terrible. (with exceptions of course). Probably because everybody is following the Disney Corporation’s model of selling mindless escapism. So, not knowing the first thing about children, nor having any background with them, I decided to write my first children's book. I know, probably not the best logic. Anyways, I decided I'd give it an attempt anyways, and see if I could up the game on children's literature. Well, I'm not sure I did that, but here's one freedom fighters attempt at it. Thanks for your time and feedback. I hope you enjoy it. Isaac
