Vogue magazine in hot Water over Diversity themed issue
Donnadogsoth replied to Toys4's topic in Current Events
Western culture includes exploring, investigating, playing with, and even satirising other cultures, akin to children dressing up in their parents' clothes, or marveling and laughing at the funny animals at the zoo. That's part of what makes us who we are. People who disparage this while condemning and attempting to shame innocent Westerners for doing this are themselves anti-Western and are using their privilege as putative popular moralists to damage and destroy the very West that put them in their places of pop-cultural authority to begin with. "Cultural sensitivity" is another way of saying the West is "too Western" and needs to be stripped of its essence in order to fulfill the ideological whimsy of the international socialist vanguard, which deploys itself in the form of the "social justice warriors" and their well-meaning dupes. It is the uniquely Western paradox that it seeks to become itself by destroying itself. It has been programmed for equality of all, without a balancing program to stop "of all" coming to mean the entire population of Terra, and this equalisation has manifested in animal rights, ecology, feminism, rainbowism, "diversity quotas", welfare, lack of school choice, and the push to drop all borders to immigration and admit the world. The West has not yet successfully established a principle of cultural survival that would temper the excesses of the egalitarianists. If only there were a way to support and de-shame the celebrities and others who are giving into the shamers. -

Why is the Universe the way it is and not another way?
Donnadogsoth replied to Donnadogsoth's topic in Philosophy
Are you still unprincipled? How long will it take for the concept of principle to enter the minds of the putative philosophers of Terra? Most technically, the penny, if it has substance, also has will and so its decision factors into the results that it obtains. But, pennies are very easy-going sorts of things and so for all our purposes we can presume that the physical principles (or mental principles, in the case of a con-artist skilled at flipping pennies for a particular result) combine to determine what the penny will do. Humans, on the other hand, have a much larger element of free will, such that we call it "free" and say it can resist, sovereignly, much if not all of the impulses made upon it by the physical world, the world of principles whether physical or artistic-moral-psychological. So, in a sense, all things with substance and will have freedom to choose, as we see down into the tiniest microphysical scales of the Universe, but for our purposes, in the Newtonian scale, things, at least normally, behave as though they were determined absolutely. As I said, chance it not an argument. -
Black Lives Matter co-founder appears to label white people ‘defects’ TORONTO - A co-founder of Black Lives Matter Toronto argued that white people are “recessive genetic defects” and purportedly mused about how the race could be “wiped out,” according to a post on what appears to be her Facebook page. Yusra Khogali has faced increased scrutiny over the past year after BLM Toronto gained political influence following their disruption of the Toronto Pride parade and confrontations with Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne. On Friday, Toronto Police announced they would not participate in this year’s upcoming parade. This has been a longstanding demand of BLM TO and one that the board of Pride Toronto recently backed in a controversial vote. Khogali has a track record of inflammatory, divisive rhetoric. Only last week during a protest in front of the US consulate Khogali shouted into a microphone that “Justin Trudeau is a white supremacist terrorist” and urged the crowd to “rise up and fight back.” “Look at us, we have the numbers,” she said. Banish Black Lives Matter Toronto to the fringes where it belongs Time to boycott the appeasers at Pride Toronto She also faced controversy in the news for a tweet posted a year ago stating: “Plz Allah give me strength to not cuss/kill these men and white folks out here today.” While these remarks alarmed many Canadians, they pale in comparison to a statement numerous sources forwarded to the Sun that Khogali appears to have posted on Facebook in late 2015. “Whiteness is not humxness,” the statement begins. “infact, white skin is sub-humxn.” The post goes on to present a genetics-based argument centred on melanin and enzyme. “White ppl are recessive genetic defects. this is factual,” the post reads towards the end. “white ppl need white supremacy as a mechanism to protect their survival as a people because all they can do is produce themselves. black ppl simply through their dominant genes can literally wipe out the white race if we had the power to.”

Why is the Universe the way it is and not another way?
Donnadogsoth replied to Donnadogsoth's topic in Philosophy
If I were to ask you why a flipped penny landed heads or tails, you would answer “chance” when in fact it is not chance, it is the action of universal principles on that penny that determined what its fate would be. “Chance” is not a logical reason, it is a filibuster. It's a statement of ignorance dressed in a mathematical coating. Chance is not an argument. -

Principle, such as universal gravitation, or Fermat's least-time principle of light, et al., universal reasons why the Universe works the way it does, which are vulnerable to discovery by human beings. Such discoveries are the highest manifestations of reason. Are you seriously arguing that there are no principles, or are you just insisting that part of the Universe is principled and part isn't? -

It's impenetrable-in-principle to rationality, making it the opposite of rational. -
Why is the Universe the way it is and not another way?
Donnadogsoth replied to Donnadogsoth's topic in Philosophy
Is the Universe One, or Many? If it is Many, then those Manies have no relation to each other and so effectively don't exist for one another, which defeats the purpose of calling it a "universe". If the Universe is One, then everything in it is connected to everything else. If one part of the Universe contains even a soupçon of irrationality, of unreasonableness, of "just is," of brute fact, then the relationship between that part and the other parts is contaminated by that irrationality, and since monads (elementary particles of existence) lack parts, the slightest tincture of irrationality to a monad renders it completely irrational. So, really, you think you're happily knocking God off his block, when in fact you are promoting total irrationality. Now, imagine how your philosophy works in the mind of the common man. It leads to all manner of pestilential modes of thought. "Just is" is a close companion to "so what?" which we arrive at in the mind of people gripped by such thinking. -

Donnadogsoth replied to Donnadogsoth's topic in Philosophy
Everything in the Universe is related to everything else, by definition, or else there wouldn't be one Universe but many. If one part of the Universe is unreasonable, all of the Universe is unreasonable. Riddens then to "principle". -
Why is the Universe the way it is and not another way?
Donnadogsoth replied to Donnadogsoth's topic in Philosophy
"Just is" means there are no principles, no efficient causes, no reasons for anything, including my behaviour and beliefs. Therefore you can't assert correctly that I "can't deal mentally without the belief in god" since my beliefs simply "are" and have no explanation, just as I likewise thereby can't assert correctly that you "can't deal with the reality of God's existence." -

What's left to deal with in a Universe of "just is"--pure chaos? How does one deal with that? -
Why is the Universe the way it is and not another way?
Donnadogsoth replied to Donnadogsoth's topic in Philosophy
I'm trying to get at the essential here, which is if the Universe, consciousness, human behaviour, and everything "just is" then it is irrational, meaning it is not subject to rational explanation. Nothing is explicable, nothing at all. Which begs the question of why are we talking. Why are we philosophising? Everything just is. There's no point in trying to reason about anything, or change anyone's mind. "Probability" will take care of it all somehow or other. Introducing "just is" into the Universe, at any point, for any reason, changes the entire Universe into an irrational, unreasonable enterprise, and there's no point in talking about such a thing. -

What's causing you and your behaviour? Are you a "just is" and, if so, why would the Universe bother to have such an "epiphenomenon" as your consciousness? -

I mean, what's behind the probability theory fashionable people talk of? Probability and statistics are presented as if that satisfies any question, when they are just bettors' tools, placing bets on what the green men are going to roll on their cosmic dice. There's no sense of substance to the Universe in such schemes, just statistics, when the substance of the Universe must be consciousness, as I have shown. -

An extensive new poll has found that 55 per cent of Europeans want to stop immigration from Muslim countries, with just 20 per cent supporting its continuation. A survey carried out by the Royal Institute of International Affairs think tank asked 10,000 Europeans in ten different countries if they agreed with the statement, “All further migration from mainly Muslim countries should be stopped.” 55 per cent answered in the affirmative, 25% said they don’t know and just 20% said they disagreed with the statement. POLL: CLEAR MAJORITY OF EUROPEANS WANT TOTAL BAN ON MUSLIM IMMIGRATION
