Playboy and the (Homo) Sexual Revolution http://henrymakow.com/playboy-and-the-homosexual_re.html Henry Makow has some interesting stuff on the "Gay agenda". The focus on Gay marriage is really missing the point of the pathological nature of most Gay relationships, highlighting the "Playboy" era's sexual revolution's promotion of a hedonic paradise of pansexuality--teachable to recruitable children. This plugs into the Marxist binary paradigm, where "proletariat" and "bourgeosie" are replaced by deviant sexualities and the heterosexual establishment respectively. "Kinsey's agenda, in Reisman's words, was "to supplant what he saw as a narrow procreational Judeo Christian era with a promiscuous "anything goes" bi/gay pedophile paradise."" Good "Raw Material" for a relationship.

If Ancap isn't teachable it will forever remain a table: solidly founded but going nowhere by itself. -

Alan Moore: "Superheroes are a Cultural Catastrophe"
Donnadogsoth replied to Mister Mister's topic in Current Events
A fourth option is he's made a halting statement, when he should have simply said "pop culture in its entirely is a cultural catastrophe" to include architecture, comcs, novels, music, fashion, and film. If anyone in the comics world is in a position to have the perspective on popcult just iterated, he is. I don't know, he seems...wise...and yet useless for anything other than either producing interesting comics or waffling tremendous. You're gonna die in ten or twenty years man, you've got the ear of many, sink your fangs in. -
No. The main reason is man's fallen nature. The flexibility and common interest amplify this and create a scenario where good has an uphill battle.

Alan Moore: "Superheroes are a Cultural Catastrophe"
Donnadogsoth replied to Mister Mister's topic in Current Events
I agree with Moore. The superhero genre is fluff. Just use Shakespeare and Beethoven as the standards for culture and what do we see? Gropings toward ever more novelty but really just the same masturbatory fantasies iterated over and over. Western civ will advance when pop culture ends. -
And yet evil men rule the world.

Evil men can make common cause with each other. The fact they have no loyalty outside their group gives them flexibility.

Persuasion implies the existence of a set of motivating ideas that can be exploited. Without motivating ideas, all that's left is the biologic fitness. This speaks to what Stef talks about, the sorcery of words--but this, again depends on those spelled words, those cast spells, being backed by concepts and emotions that exist in the minds of the ensorcelled. As Stephen King wrote, "They use our love against us."

Or, their philosophy is simply no-philosophy, and all your words collapse at the feet of the fact that strong, smart, powerful men conspire to become stronger, smarter, and more powerful.

[tangent] Which is why the robots will take over: it will become easier to assume the human-looking, -talking, and -acting robots are human, than to try to sort through the noise of what is really human and what is a fancy toaster. Eventually, your toaster will be opinionated and charming, and you will come to relate to it as though it were a person. [/tangent]

Superb little film, bears multiple viewings well, quotable, engaging. Just enough violence to make it fun, not so much as to bore you. And yes, more relevant than ever. OBEY

I think it's worse than that. Not only are the senses not absolutely reliable, there is no conceivable way to prove what's outside the hoax, and so no way to prove the hoax exists. Saying "it might all be a dream" is meaningless, because there is no conceivable discoverable "waking life" to appeal to. Even if I were to "wake up" into a different reality, there would be no way to prove that that reality wasn't also a dream. Which means this talk of brains in vats and the like are irrelevant. Reality, whether it is a dream or not, is as real as real gets.

Why does some music work and other music doesn't?
Donnadogsoth replied to Donnadogsoth's topic in Miscellaneous
A thought: all published music, all successful music, conveys confidence. Whatever genre of music a musician plays, he or she is always trying to portray confidence in the song, the instrumentals, the lyrics. Often this confidence associates itself with wisdom: "I know something important about love/loss/life so listen up." -
Why does some music work and other music doesn't?
Donnadogsoth replied to Donnadogsoth's topic in Miscellaneous
All my life I've heard that "everything is relative" and "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" et cetera. In previous ages there was at least an attempt at holding beauty to a universal standard, even if individuals disagreed about individual works. Now we have appeared to have thrown in the towel and said, "Oh, to hell with beauty, just do your own thing." -
We live in a time when standards of beauty, truth, and goodness have been erased, leaving only arbitrary multiplicities. My question is, why does some music appear to "work" and other music doesn't? Why, in a standardsless age, do we not like everything? What "hidden standards" are there that make one song a hit and other a flop?

Good, needed video, PatrickC. That's the second Christian-SJW parallel I've come across on this board. “The cult of tolerance is Christianity without the guilt, without the work; it is Christianity without the faith, the hope, and the love. The cult of tolerance is selfishness disguised as Christianity.” --Larrey Anderson https://board.freedomainradio.com/topic/44609-the-myth-of-relativism-and-the-cult-of-tolerance/

I don't think they're deluded in thinking that bias exists, but that's because this bias is a natural consequence of there really being a Type difference between male and female psychology. The SJW's want Nurture to conquer Nature.
