  1. Hey y'all. I'm a born and raised Charlottean. Where this happened is in an area where there are lot of apartments with police around. I've actually been in one of the apartments in this area when a live crime scene shooting had occurred a couple months ago. From what I've heard, the protesters blocked I-85 up near where it happened, 10 miles from Uptown Charlotte. The subsequent evenings, it seems all the action has been uptown, about 20 minutes south of the original crime scene. Our uptown is very new and wide and not a typical busy downtown. I've heard reports that the damage might be the most of any recent riots. The rioters have not been shown on the local news helicopters. This comes as a shock to me because my job has me working with all walks of life. All the young black folks I've met in my city have been anti-BLM. I would say, in this case, the rioters have taken Milwaukee's Sherrelle Smith's advice, and gone to the more affluent, white areas to destroy and loot.
  2. Oh wow. Great story and good job thinking for yourself. I used to live in Austin! Hyde Park, off 45th. I'd do anything for a local Tex-Mex breakfast burrito or an enchilada. No such thing as good Mexican food in the east.
  3. I'd like to piggy-back on this greeting post as another North Carolinian. Hi there. I can also sympathize with the lack of local conversation. I've been listening for a year and just decided to join the site. I enjoy the anarchy arguments from a moral side. I attended a libertarian college and arrived at anarchy from the economics side of things. There is a certain cold calculation from the Chicago school of economics; and the Austrian and Public Choice side seem to ignore the moral arguments. Thanks for having me.
  4. There is a colloquial phrase, "Back from a long Hiatus".
