munchie420 Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 I've been trying to find something my whole life and I hope I can find it here.I scored a seven out of ten on the ACE Score calculator and have known for a long time that I had a brutal childhood. I've been in and out of therapy since I was fourteen. I am 46 now. I have done a range of therapies including CBT and EMDR. I still suffer from PTSD, depression and panic attacks.I find myself, once again, at a cross road in my life and I'm trying to make well informed decisions based on UPB and NAP. I know I still have a lot to learn and a lot of things to reorganize in my life. I hope I can find the happiness I seek through reason and virtue.Politically, I gone from Republican to Libertarian to libertarian to Voluntarism to Agorist to Anarchist to now just wanting to throw off any political labeling.I have been watching Stefan off and on for about a year now and have always enjoyed his delivery and sense of humor. I do have my questions and am trying to find the answers. He has a ton of material to sift through. I wish he had some kind of weekend retreat to put things in order. If you'd like to know more, please feel free to ask. I look forward to making new friends here.munchie420
dsayers Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Hello back from Ohio I was standing next to a 9 ft tall snow bank earlier, how about you? That's not where our similarities end. I too have been partaking of the work of Stef for a little over a year now. I too appreciate the difference between Libertarian and libertarian and have come to the conclusion that I do not wish for a label (not just political). Unfortunately, it sounds like you've had a decade more of suffering and of greater severity. For that, I am truly sorry. If you feel like sharing what came to pass that had you in therapy at 14, I think you're among good company here. Lots of us (if I may be so bold as to speak collectively) use reason and virtue to heal and to see and encourage the healing in others. I hope you find what you're looking for and that your time here is germane to that pursuit.
munchie420 Posted February 7, 2014 Author Posted February 7, 2014 Thank you for your response and kind words, dsayer. It took me two days to clear my driveway with a snow blower and shovel from this last storm. Part of the reason is because I have arthritis and took a fall on day one, but considering that I can normally clear it in an hour, it was quite the undertaking. It took me over two hours just to clear my driveway apron of the three foot wall of compacted snow and ice left there from the city plows. I did use the time to listen to some of Stefan's call in shows, which was good.I am hoping that I can find the reason and virtue to heal here and in another round of therapy. Thank you again, I really appreciate you taking the time to reach out.
dsayers Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 I hear you. I at one point pinched a muscle in my back that left me unable to move hardly at all without sacrificing the ability to breathe. It was only by luck that it came at the beginning of a several day window of no new snow, that I was able to rest up before having to resume. If your mp3 player is the type that starts at the beginning of a track instead of where you left off, check out the link in my sig. You can post call in shows you haven't yet partaken of and I'll chop them up for you if you need.
