meta Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 I can’t possibly be the first frenchie here….or am I ?I think it is hilarious to not find one French person in here, I looked at the last dozen of pages of the introduction section, can’t find one, I am surely wrong.Ahhhh, France…The wine, the food, the socialist scum… beautiful landscapes but a dark horizon.Proudly drowning in collectivism, shielded by the ever glowing aura of the “social combat of our fathers”…. Hard to believe that this is the land of F.Bastiat or E. de la Boétie…. I don’t see how we(frenchies) can make it , so I laugh about it. I had a wonderful upbringing, I almost feel ashamed of the amount of love I have received when I listen to the callers show. I am one of those who somehow managed to keep empathy even when soaked in a tender and warm comfort. To all of you that suffered beyond what I could have imagined, I send my love.Witnessing the suffering of innocents is what made me interested in philosophy, politics, economy and history. I almost feel that I owe my conscience to the less fortunate, especially the love depraved. Because I never understood why it was so unfair. Why I had so much, when others had nothing. I want to thank you as much as Stefan, for your courage, your strength to grab the bull by the horn. To share so much about yourselves. So many of your stories, Stefan’s life is a good example, are making me believe ( yes, faith) that a light can emerge out of darkness, a phenomenon that I still can’t understand.Hope to have some great debates here, I love FDR because it is challenging, not because I agree with Stefan (I don’t half of the time). Cheers! If any philosopher here lives in Paris, mail me to organise a meetup group.
Sal9000 Posted May 19, 2014 Posted May 19, 2014 Salut, I am not French, but I studied in Paris at a University. Welcome to the board and à bientôt!
