Matt.prince19 Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Hello all. My name is Matt. I'm an anarchist/atheist from Marietta, GA, US. I'm hoping to meet some alike folks in close proximity to myself to possibly meet up, but most of all I'm excited to join the discussion here on FDR. It's nice to find some like minded people out in the world.
Kevin Beal Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Hi Matt! Welcome to the boards What was your journey like to anarchism/atheism? Was it dragging you kicking and screaming toward the truth, or was it more of a lighthouse in the storm?
GA_Freeman Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Matt, welcome to the boards. I am in Georgia. Please tell us about your self and give us a sense of what brings you and who you are.
Matt.prince19 Posted March 11, 2015 Author Posted March 11, 2015 I'm 28 years old. I enjoy playing guitar, skate boarding, spending lots of time with my 8 year old son, reading, writing, welding, and pretty much anything that requires me to work with my hands. I do have extremely strong feelings against the state. I will occasionally go on rants about the information I come across. I grew up in a southern Baptist family, so the path definitely had its difficulties and still does on occasion. My interest in anarchy and atheism in high school. I had always questioned religion, but finally was able to open up my mind after a friend introduced me to Bad Religion. I found meaning in their lyrics and had to know more. I then started reading Noam Chomsky, Michael Moore, etc. Of course my parents were unhappy with this, but they realized they couldn't hold me back, so they let me go with it thinking one day I would "grow out of it". Ever since I can remember, I have always wanted to know more information about everything. The meaning of life. Why people act the way they do. How things work. A couple years ago I discovered the Zeitgeist movement, which opened me up to workings of the world bank and corruption in the monetary system. After discovering zeitgeist, I discovered the Venus Project. I have a lot interest in the works and ideas of Jacque Fresco. I support living in as most of eco-friendly life as possible. The more self-sufficient you are, the less you have to depend on the state. I have only discovered FDR in the past year. Since then I have read most of Stefan's books. I came here in search of more ideas on how an anarchic system could work and discovered the world of ethics, peaceful parenting, and what it truly means to be in a relationship. 1
