As the October 14th, 2018, Bavarian state elections approach, Germany is in the midst of political civil war which not only threatens the current government coalition, but the political future of long-term German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the stability of the European Union. The state of Bavaria - the largest German state by land area and its second most populated with 12.9 million inhabitants - has been electorally dominated by the Christian Social Union (CSU) for decades, but concern about the surging Alternative For Germany (AfD) as elections approach had prompted an establishment party push for stronger immigration policy. Includes: The political future of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Bavaria, Christian Democrats (CDU), Horts Seehofer’s Christian Social Union (CSU), Social Democrats (SPD), Alternative For Germany (AfD), German Interior Minister Horts Seehofer, Bavarian State Premier Markus Söder, Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini, Italy's Political Revolution, European Union, George Soros, Asylum Applications, United Nations Estimates On Foreign-Born or Foreign Citizens and much much more! Question 1: [2:14] – “I am 36 years old, yet just this past year I have discovered (through a DNA test on 23 and Me) that my father is not actually my biological father and that my real father was a student and anonymous sperm donor at a medical university—where I was conceived. My brother was also revealed to be a half-brother. I had underlying suspicions for years to which my parents had always mislead me—and when the DNA results were finally revealed their response was ‘DNA was not really known in 1982 and had we known this would ever be found out we would not have lied.’ My question is whether or not you consider the practice of donor conception to be morally viable? And whether or not lying to children about who their bio father is—is akin to child abuse?” Question 2: [46:00] – “In the fall of Bill Cosby episode, Stef talks about women needing to take greater caution when interacting with men. He equates a woman accepting an older man’s invitation to accompany him to private quarters with leaving a Rolex on a park bench in downtown New York. My interpretation of his argument was that because women are more vulnerable to predation than men, they should limit their freedom more in order to avoid being confronted by evil in our society. Vulnerability is not only an invitation for evil but also an opportunity for others to act with moral integrity. The right to freedom from the initiation of coercion and freedom of movement for women and other vulnerable citizens of a nation, whose constitution is based upon those principals, are promised defense against those who violate the constitution. It is through defending our freedom that we protect it from being destroyed by those who wish to enslave us. How much more of our individual freedom are we expected to sacrifice in order to escape the evils society claims to defend its citizens against?” Question 3: [2:22:37] – “I'm either somebody who's being enslaved or somebody who signed the dotted line and needs to get over my regrets. The difference between that decides whether I need to chase my own dreams, verses learn to be happy with the options I have. Thus, the reasoning behind that Right to Pursue Happiness becomes the fine line from which I can gain critical introspection which I need to move on to my next career. My undergraduate degree is in Math. Everyone knows that 1 x 1 = 1, but *proving* it by the underlying definitions wasn't something I did until Senior level coursework. Thus, I figure coming up with proof for basic things that most people accept as axioms is best left to specialists. Thus, I'm calling a philosopher to prove why freedom is a right.” Your support is essential to Freedomain Radio, which is 100% funded by viewers like you. Question 1: [1:25] – “I grew up as a loner, disliked school, likes guns and fit the typical profile of a school shooter, but obviously didn’t do any such thing. I would like to push back against your argument for holding parents accountable if their children commit crimes such as mass shootings. Instead I have a proposed solution that I would like your thoughts on.” Question 2: [16:30] – “I think I disagree with Stefan on the issue of single mothers. Since single father's sexual market value is brought down a peg, wouldn't it then be appropriate for single fathers to date single mothers? In my opinion, the up side to dating a single mother is if you eventually want children with her, you would be able to have a bird's eye view in action of how potentially your children would be treated by her.” Question 3: [1:31:40] – “I have a background in philosophy and theology. I started reading your book out of curiosity to see what you had to say 'against the gods'. I usually find your work interesting, and in depth which I appreciate. However, when it came to your discussion of theism it was painfully uninformed. So, my question for you is: Do you find theism so out of the question that you don't take the time to adequately research it, or was there another reason that you abdicated good research methods? A specific example is your discussion of omnipotence and omniscience, you seem to think you dispatched theism in a few paragraphs, but you failed to define what is meant by those terms. When you attempted to represent what a theist would say in response you gave a skewed understanding of the motive for Divine Atemporality. Theists didn't create divine timelessness to get out of an incoherence, rather it was because various philosophical considerations pushed them in that direction (divine simplicity, immutability, arguments from motion, notions of necessity etc.). I can detail other egregious errors, and a logical fallacy in the arguments against Theism in the book as well. So, why the disparity on this topic?” Question 4: [2:25:21] – “I have recently ended a number of, what had been, close friendships due to some traumatic incidents within the friendship group. After hearing my reasons for cutting off one individual many others followed suit, ending both personal friendships and working relationships. Most of those that continued to be friends with this individual eventually ended their friendships with me. Following this incident, I have found myself heavily scrutinizing the people that continue to spend time with those who I have cut off, and I have little respect for people to try to tow the middle line and not take sides. My question is, how far should people be held accountable for the actions of the people they choose to be friends with? If you are the company you keep, should those that stick by people who behave immorally be painted with the same brush and how far does that extend to their relationships?” Your support is essential to Freedomain Radio, which is 100% funded by viewers like you. Italy is on a collision course with the European Union and the European Central Bank, and while many celebrate the rise of the new “populist” government coalition, the stability of both the Euro and the European Union once again gain the spotlight on the world stage. Italy is now led by Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte – a relative unknown – and the government coalition between The League, led by Matteo Salvini, and the Five Star Movement, led by Luigi Di Maio. Italy’s debt currently stands at approximately €2.17 trillion - or 132% of gross domestic product (GDP). To put things in perspective, Greece’s debt-to-GDP ratio was “only” 127% when they were bailed out in 2010. Includes: The European Migrant Crisis, Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, The League led by Matteo Salvini, Five Star Movement led by Luigi Di Maio, George Soros, Asylum Applications, United Nations Migration Estimates, Italy Population Figures, Unemployment, Foreign Students In Italy, attitudes Towards Refugees, The Truth About The Euro, Debt to GDP Breakdowns, Government Debt Per Capita and much much more! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tax7H6O_Yw4 Throughout Canadian history, Ontario has always been one of the wealthiest provinces, and a driver of national economic growth. Over the last three years, Ontario’s net debt increased by $22.8 billion and over the next three years, the proposed budget calls for provincial debt to grow by an estimated $52 billion. The massive explosion in Ontario’s debt is completely unsustainable and there is no end in sight. Stefan Molyneux and Lauren Southern are coming to Australia in July 2018 with events in Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide, Sydney and Brisbane. Tickets are available now: https://axiomatic.events Question 1: [2:47] – “I'm a 27-year-old former banker/trader who has returned recently to University to undertake a PhD. I've been shocked at the change I have seen in only the last 5 or so years since I graduated, and it has made me seriously question the direction of the UK university system. Debate now is entirely group and identity based, even in debate hustings facts are secondary and arguments are subject entirely to identity politics. I recently attended my first ever competition at the ripe old age of 27 and had (what I believed to be uncontroversial arguments based on fact) cast as colonialist and borderline white supremacist. My question for Stefan is how do I navigate this new post-fact campus; I need to survive here for another 4 years do I just grit my teeth and pretend I see nothing?” Question 2: [44:33] – “I was raised Christian and I have faith that God exists (even though using that word is wrong). I've listened to as many conversations about God you've had as I can find, as well as reading your books on the subject. I fervently seek the truth and pride myself in putting logic and reason first. This puts me into a state of inner conflict pertaining to my faith. I honestly do think it is possible that because I was raised believing in God, I am unable to let go of a belief that has shaped so much of my life. Yet, even though I will admit that as a possibility, I do not think that is what it is, or at least not all of it. That leads me to a question I want to ask you. You’ve said that if one makes the argument that God doesn’t need to be created, that you can then say the same thing about the universe. Also, you say that complexity has to be proceeded by lesser complexity. Do you see any conflict between these two thoughts? From the understanding I have of science, the universe can't be infinite. I think a critical analysis of our universe puts you face to face with having to contend with that which isn't empirical and that which doesn't conform with our understanding of science and reality. Or is this a sort of confirmation bias observation of reality, a sort of "God of the gaps" argument that I've come up with? I'm interested to discuss this with you and to hear your thoughts.” Question 3: [1:35:51] – “I'm writing in because of a recent podcast I listened to involving changes to the story of the Florida School Shooting. Stefan discussed some topics I'm intimately familiar with due to my profession. I am a special education teacher working in an alternative program for students who've been expelled from their regular schools. I'm certain that my school is very similar to the one Nikolas attended for a short time before his shooting rampage. I would like to share some of the outrageous things I've seen happening in public education and the special education world as a whole. There are a lot of cases very similar to Nikolas Cruz and I think many of these, students are ticking time bombs and it's only a matter of time before we see more instances of mass violence. Due to federal laws, students can basically get away with anything. We've had students attack teachers, bring knives and even guns to school, sell drugs on school property, and much more. They have little to no lasting consequences. This is especially true if they have an Individual Education Plan. It's only a matter of time before another case like Nikolas Cruz happens again.” Your support is essential to Freedomain Radio, which is 100% funded by viewers like you.
