  1. Bump! This would be nice to have if feasible.
  2. Hi Ludera! If you ever visit Barcelona let us know, we are (at least) 2 FDR listeners over here.
  3. Hola! Estoy en Barcelona, avisen si hacen algĂșn meetup!
  4. World fertility rate is around 2.3 which is barely above replacement rate (2.1), and keeps declining. Overpopulation is not even a concern.
  5. There is an implicit acceptance of "truth is preferable over falsehood" when rejecting a statement.
  6. Hola!, I'm in Argentina, send me a pm.
  7. I'm sorry about the situation, I hope you can both work it out. Have you considered calling into the show? It would be an interesting topic.
  8. Even if day cares had no negative effects on the emotional development of the child, why is the stay at home mom (or dad) not an option? Her positive regard towards day cares raises a red flag to me. Has she tried to research into the subject by herself after your conversations? or did she just dismiss it? Quick google search: http://www.familyfacts.org/briefs/43/the-effects-of-day-care-on-the-social-emotional-development-of-children http://www.familyfacts.org/briefs/37/daycare-and-childrens-well-being
  9. It was a leading question to compare the similarities with a government and show the contradiction. But for argument's sake, purely free market situation, free to opt-out, what's wrong with a group of people offering their services but with the conditions of remaining anonymous and not taking liability if anything goes wrong?
  10. What's wrong with corporations? If she fears corporations she can't be in favor of a government, which is the worst conceivable corporation.
  11. Adding to dsayers response, let's say that even after "buying up all exporters" the company can still make profit somehow. What's wrong with a company outsmarting the competition? Is there any force involved?
  12. Aren't you more worried about the emotional health of your child by exposing him/her to such a dysfunctional couple? (And your emotional health too...)
  13. Maybe they could use something like google's calendar widget, it's ugly but you would only have to mantain a separate google calendar instead touching the site.
  14. It's a mother humiliating her daughter in front of friends and family. Do you still find it funny after reading the above summary? (curious question)
  15. The above link didn't work for me, but removing the 'www' did the trick:http://conormcmillen.com/
  16. What about: "Logic is the set of rules, and Reason is the process of using those rules."
  17. Google docs with comments enabled is very nice for these kinds of collaborations. (example)
  18. Looting is becoming a recurring event on Argentina before holidays. This time coincided with (provincial) police forces going on an almost entire country strike, which gave robbers even more free range to perform their annual deed. Fun facts: - Population is almost disarmed by law (you need heavy permits to carry a weapon) and if they shoot someone, even on most self defense situations, they will get prosecuted instead of the perpetrator. - Annual Inflation rate has been around 30% for the past years, this year nearing 50% as bank dollar reserves dry out (government claims under 15% annual inflation). - Most lootings were organized (there were even facebook events where ~250 people booked in to rob Chinese supermarkets).
  19. If profits are so high and the employees are underpaid, a third party (or the employees themselves) could just start a business where they sell cheaper and pay their employees more, they would absorb both clients and unhappy employees from other companies and force mcdonalds to follow to stay in the market. Unless there is something preventing such business coming into existence *cough*state regulations*cough*.
  20. The adults that ask for those "services" aren't role playing.
  21. I felt very similar to you and also anger towards the mother. I don't think the question revolves around if "teenagers" need friends. Every human benefits from positive human interaction, and he is getting all the contrary. And no wonder why he finds harder to get "real life" friends with that upbringing. His reaction is completely natural to me, he lives in a dysfunctional environment mostly due to the mother, and his online friends probably provide them what he is deprived at home and also distract him from that awful environment. Do you think he would benefit if you suggest him Stefan's material (besides your website)? Therapy would me a must but I'm not sure if that kind of mother would allow it.
  22. You will have certainly more chances if you participate in the Wednesday/Sunday call in shows. Stefan doesn't respond to every mail as far as I know.
  23. Do lions violate the NAP? Would a pig honor the NAP? (i.e. wouldn't he eat you if he had the opportunity?) Disclaimer: vegan myself
  24. I don't think it would be a free society if people still allow "countries" to exist. Same way you don't see slavery popping out nowadays.
  25. Going to be nit-picky here but it sounds like you are putting the onus on him, his forgiveness depends on you. Kudos on what you are doing, very few parents even think about going through this process.
