No Such Thing As Marital Rape
Boohickey11 replied to Will Torbald's topic in Men's Issues, Feminism and Gender
I've never had half-asleep sex but I've had passionate kissing in the middle of the night with my fiance while half-asleep. Did I commit sexual assault? BTW, passionate middle-of-the-night kissing is awesome. And it would never occur without someone you love/trust sleeping next to you. -

Piketty - Capital in The 21. century
Boohickey11 replied to Victor-Storm's topic in Libertarianism, Anarchism and Economics
Robert Murphy has answered Pikkety with the most academic responses, I think. http://consultingbyrpm.com/blog/2014/06/full-review-of-pikettys-capital-in-the-21st-century.html If you search his blog for Piketty you will find plenty of other smaller posts he has written and links to others responses. In short though, since economics is a science in which experiements cannot be run (no variable control & no time travel to repeat experiments), all empirical data is useless anyway. -
Second Wachowski Sibling Comes Out as Transgender

If their childhood was bad then there was a violation of NAP. If a drug user is "happier" on drugs does that mean the user is healthy? -
I think this is probably the most accurate answer. I've realized that people aren't like locks or puzzles. There isn't some combination of video, audio, or articles that's going to cause them to suddenly choose to listen and open their mind. It's a waste of time trying. "You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink" This idiom, for me, has been the most applicable to FDR.

While I'm not the caller I think I might understand what he was getting at. Imagine a woman from a very dangerous place where rape is common and defending yourself may result in harm or death. If she finds herself in a situation where a man she is dating begins to make-out with her and unclothe her she may be too afraid to say no. If he undresses her and has sex with her then has he committed rape? She may feel violated but for it to have been rape would have required her expression of disapproval, correct? These are sticky situations where we have to be careful with are words.

KY Media not reporting shopping mall riot info
Boohickey11 replied to Boohickey11's topic in Current Events
Update: http://www.wlky.com/news/new-information-to-be-released-on-mall-st-matthews-disturbance/37189134 -
I'm posting this here if anyone at this forum would like to see some anecdotal evidence of media not reporting mass crimes involving primarily minorities. Late Saturday, Dec 26th, at a mall in Louisville, KY there was some kind of disturbance involving a large number of black youths ("young people" or "juveniles" as reported by the Media.) If you follow the above links and search through the comments section you can see that there are people who are sick of being misinformed etc about the goings on in the community around them. I think there may be some value in getting some exposure to what is going on in some peoples head about these issues. http://www.wlky.com/news/police-on-scene-of-incident-at-mall-st-matthews/37141942 http://www.whas11.com/story/news/crime/2015/12/27/details-emerge-mall-st-matthews-riot-aftermath/77943918/ http://www.wdrb.com/story/30835759/police-radio-traffic-at-mall-st-matthews-we-need-help-we-need-people-over-here To give some clarity to the issue I will give a small perspective. This mall is on the nice side of town. Since they put in a movie theater at this mall there has been an increase in individuals from the other side of town taking the city bus transportation to come and hang out at this mall (and NOT spend money). This crowd has been either mostly composed of or completely composed of these minorities from the unruly side of town.

I'm so sorry, I meant to post that it is 6PM Eastern Time. This doesn't have to be a permanent time. I would like to tailor the time to involve as many participants as possible but first we have to see who will participate to begin with. Perhaps we'll keep this Friday's time for now and change it to the weekend so that we can use an earlier time. Of course, my GF (her forum name is Alshar04 but it has not been approved yet which is why she hasn't posted here) is at home most of the day and may be able to do an earlier time.

Here is a summary of his economic stance (which seems contradict itself repeatedly.) http://mises.org/daily/1132

I only want to be as present as necessary. I will be physically around my "Skype Workstation" to help my GF if there are any issues but I will try not to be involved in the actual group discussion unless they want me there for some reason. I'll be in another room watching Star Trek! I wonder, though, if women are actually more nervous with talking when there is a man present or if they are more intimidated by the fact that it is a women's group. What I mean is that (I think) in the general public a woman is more likely to receive flak if she is of the "freedomain" persuasion than a male is. I think a lot of women on this forum may experience more fear of criticism from their fellow females (in public) than from men. BTW, the only reason that it is me (and not my GF) who is doing all of this arranging is that she is super-busy with school since it is midterms.

Right now the tentative start of the Female FDR group is next week, Friday Oct. 24th at 6PM or so. I know a lot of women at FDR would have anxiety at being a part of this group. Perhaps that would be a great topic for the first meeting. Remember, if you want to listen but not speak during the conversation that is perfectly fine. I think the way it will work (for now) is that my girlfriend will somewhat host. I will participate in a tech support manner. I can help anyone with their setup if necessary. (This will be an audio-only meetup). Below is a link to a decent skype beginners guide: http://mashable.com/2014/07/09/skype-for-beginners/ The one thing I will add to the guide is that you want your microphone to be within an inch of your mouth and point towards it. You want it just below or to the side of your breath (such that when you exhale the air doesn't go into the mic.)

My GF can host a women's FDR skype group between Thursday next week through Sunday (Oct. 23-26). She'll be done with midterms and will have some free time. If there is a skype group (with a name) already we can do that. If not I will create one for her.

Foreskin Regeneration
Boohickey11 replied to Boohickey11's topic in Men's Issues, Feminism and Gender
Update: So, I have started the regeneration process with the device that I ordered and have been for a few days. I know now that I really am going to have to be committed to this process if I am going to have the kind of results that I am hoping for. There is definitely going to be a lot of discomfort and some pain during this process. I don't want to scare anyone away from doing this however. The discomfort is manageable and the pain only comes (at least for me) when removing the device. It's kind of like when you sit on your leg too long and it only hurts when you first standup. -

I searched the forum and did not find a topic specifically on foreskin regeneration so I am starting one here. As a circumcised male I feel that something was taken from me. I have decided to begin the non-surgical procedure of foreskin regeneration using a stretching device. The device I will be purchasing comes from foreskinrestore.com. I would like this thread to be specifically about foreskin regeneration only and not a rant about circumcision in general. I want it to be a place about those of us who are circumcised and want more information on foreskin regeneration from an anecdotal perspective. I will try to keep this thread current as this process continues.

It's like reverse trolling. It reminds me of how a small group of a few communists would attend a meeting but wouldn't sit together. They would argue from different sides of the room to make it look like there were more people on their side. The point is... don't feed the trolls. -
