This guy isn't doing just a good magic trick though. I loved magic when I was a kid and know the basics behind most magic tricks. But with this guy I cant even begin to figure out how he does it. He says often that he uses psychology to trick the mind which I've always known magicians use but this is really not like anything I have seen before. Pen and Teller are great and funny. I've pretty much consumed every Penn and Teller magic trick video on youtube I could find. I think the thing that gives this guy so much credibility is that he does his tricks on celebrities and not just common people. That kind of erases any doubt in my mind that this is all camera tricks or someone is acting.

I hope you find it. I would love to hear that podcast as well. I think a year ago steph had the podcast in the 3 hour plus format so it might be little harder to find. On the other hand you could just call into the show

Dude what? Are you going to give any arguments or not? You are just saying random things that arent convincing anyone of anything. Tell us why you think what you believe is true. If you are going to come to this forum of thinkers you need to make a solid case which you have yet to do. If you aren't willing or able to do so then good luck convincing anyone of anything.

I lean heavily on appearance for first impressions. Now obviously everyone knows that someone can appear one way and actually be totally different. But I cant deny if someone looks a certain way and 9/10 times the appearance is matched by a certain behavior then it is most efficient to act assuming the behavior will follow. It's completely rational to me. Sure that 1 time out of 10 I will be wrong but think of the energy it takes to treat everyone the exact same and to be let down 90% of the time. I wont do it. That being said I dont think someone's appearance has much baring on the final evaluation of the person. Im assuming you mean after you suspend judgment long enough to get to know them. At that point it doesn't matter what they look like because you know who they are now. I mean if Steph started dressing like Hitler would we really think he as a person has fundamentally changed? We may think he is having an odd day but he would still be the same person at his core. If I had no choice but to evaluate someone lets say someone for a job interview I would say you need to rely on appearance. You cant take that chance that this might be the guy that dresses like a thug but is a genius with computers shows up on time never causes any problems. I dont think we are really judging people by their looks on this forum. I mean im showing my face but what exactly can you tell? If someone were to make a judgement about how I may behave in the forums based on the fact that I am black I wouldn't fault them for that. If you grew up in a bad neighborhood getting beaten up by black people all your life you cant help by make judgement based on your experiences. I do the same thing with everyone I meet. When I run into someone who looks like something I have experienced I will judge them based on those experiences. It's not a bad thing and I believe it is a very helpful thing. The problem comes in when you cant distinguish between good and bad people. If you are constantly told say men are dog and pigs and blah blah blah you might have a difficult time ever getting to know a man and being able to see hey there are men that actually aren't like that. Same goes with appearances if you are willing to accept that people can be different regardless of any particular feature then you have open the door to rational evaluation.

I dont get it. If you dont have any arguments how do you expect to convince anyone here. It's would be one thing if you said follow this religion because it's good for the earth but I dont think you are saying that. And if you are then you really just have an opinion about the best methodology for helping earth. If you are not saying that then you need to give us an answer as to why believing in this religion makes sense. Can you give us that answer? At least tell us why it makes sense to you personally.

When you start getting into fairness you are not longer talking about economic in my opinion. If they want to make an argument about that says the market will drain us from all our resources then they need to prove why supply and demand is invalid. If they say it's valid but not fair then he needs to make sure he lets his audience know he is talking about ethics and not economics.

Something I dont understand is why this movement thinks resources aren't limited by the market. I mean support and demand work for shoes so why would this not work for natural resources? Is there no belief in the incentive to find alternatives once a natural resource begins to dwindle? Maybe im wrong but I thought that was pretty foundational to all economic schools of thought.

I doubt he actually knows what he is talking about. You should ask him what anarchist society he knows of that was taken over by an outside government. I feel like he is assuming that because they no longer exist then they must have been taken over. I bet if you press him to give examples he wont have an answer.

Yup they are all idiots as far as I am concerned. I've seen some absolutely ridiculous comments on my facebook feed like I better make sure I walk with my hands up or I might get shot. I just posted Steph's video he just posted with an invitation to anyone that wants to think instead of emotionally react. I doubt I will get any comments on that post though.

I think a lot of men will still take it. For the same reasons woman take the pill despite it's obvious dangers. Me and my wife track her ovulation cycle so we can know when it's even possible for her to get pregnant. Been almost two years and she isn't pregnant yet. Almost all drugs are very dangerous because drugs by their nature are trying to stop what is occurring naturally in the body. Our understanding of the human body despite what you may have heard is quite limited. There is a very good reason why which I wont get into here since it is pretty far off topic but we wont come to an understanding of how to safely do this for a long time. And that's assuming doing this safely is even possible. We may find out in the future that it is actually impossible to create a drug with no side effects.

I dont really know to be honest. Like I said before maybe I am a bit sadistic taking pleasure in watching people who cant think get upset about this kind of stuff. I dont think anyone is hurt going to be hurt by this through. If so I wouldn't have posted this. But one thing I do profit from is being socially ostracized from those who cant think. Maybe subconsciously that is what I really want. And im sure there are other ways to do this but none that amuse me so. I think torture is a bit strong but I do understand why you would say that. The more I think about it the most I think what I really do want is to be ostracized rather than to ostracize. It's a much most passive way of dealing with the problem of breaking ties with people you really dont want to break ties with. Trust me I really dont care about these people. Philosophy has made me realize what it means to be a friend and what it means to be an acquaintance. I honestly ask myself why im still even on facebook a lot of times. But yea im not concerned about hurting my "friendships". If people dont like what I have to say they can socially ostracize me. Just like a socially ostracize myself from rapist and murders.

I tend to agree. Hammers can be dangerous and when someone suddenly swings one I think I would jump no matter what. Interesting video though.

The reason this is medically very complicated is because females have one cell (the egg) that has to be shut down in order to stop pregnancy. For men there are millions of cells (sperm) you have to shut down. The degree of complexity goes way up when you are dealing with it in this manner. If you introduce a drug into the body to forcible make the body produce unusable sperm the body will constantly be trying to move itself back to normalcy. Because of this it is very hard to get every sperm to be unusable. Hope that gives some perspective on why this problem hasn't been solved yet in the same way it has been solved for females.

So of course officer Darren Wilson was not convicted of anything and the black community is really pissed. You should see the post on my facebook feed. People are saying crazy stuff like I better make sure I walk with my hands up when walking in the street. I saw a comment under that post that say you are double screwed because you are a woman and you are black. Jeez these people cant think. So Im trying to think of the most honest but controversial thing I can post. There is almost no one on my friends list I really care about at all now that I have gained some self knowledge. So I think it will be entertaining to get them angry. Maybe there is a string of sadism in me but I find this hard to resist. I really cant wait until Steph post something about this. Now that you have asked the question I dont really know the answer. I always assumed it was something knowing what your weaknesses were assuming these weaknesses were a effect of a traumatic past. But I guess you could say it could be something as simple as knowing you have a weakness for sweets.
