  1. The flat earth and geocentrism scriptures were always my favorite to point out. Ecclesiastes 1:5 (the sun hurries back to where it started) "The sun rises and the sun sets, and hurries back to where it rises." Joshua 10:13 (God stops the sun) "The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day" Psalm 104:5 "He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved" Also, when reading scriptures, say "the sky" instead of "heaven". Heaven is the solid dome that God has spread out over the Earth. Stars are little lights that can fall down when God shakes them. More examples https://www.lhup.edu/~dsimanek/febible.htm I have come to the conclusion that religious people can't be helped, most of the time. Religion is dying a natural death as science spreads through the culture. My advice is not to waste your time, just enjoy the show.
  2. I would say he is one of the more reasonable statists. Doesn't meet my standards for awesome though.
  3. I never tell people what they should do. I generally provide information and express my concern. We really do need to do more to stop these traumatic childhoods from occurring. We could have avoided the war completely.
  4. The funniest song I've ever heard, from my comedy heroes Tim and Eric. Don't watch if you're easily offended.
  5. I usually like melodic electronic music. Sometimes purely organic music can get my attention too.
  6. Also, I'm sure there are many strange men who just want to eat cookies and icecream.
  7. I'm definitely a grinch, Christmas is repulsive to me in most respects. I see religion, tradition, obliged gift giving, obliged kindness, mindless zombies calling out "merry christmas", lies to children, threats to children (better be good, or else...), christmas songs irritate me and seem to get worse every year. Business takes advantage of the mass hysteria and laughs all the way to the bank. I'm not a mean grinch though, if someone wishes me a merry christmas I'll be like, "yeah great buddy" and give them a thumbs up. But is it not more virtuous to be kind because that is who you are? Or to give a gift because you really do care, instead of a calendar prompt? I find that my random gifts and acts of kindness are much more appreciated.
  8. My 2 cents is that the wrong people are reproducing. Dealing with the consequences of that is like starving yourself and then taking painkillers to fix the resulting stomach pain. Getting to the root of the issue, unqualified parents, would do away with most child abuse issues. It would also solve most other social problems in society.
  9. Welcome, I'm new here too. I would say this is the most reasonable forum on the internet I have come across. At my most ignorant I considered myself communist, now I consider myself full on anarchist. Logic has unimaginable power to change the world for the better. You are one of the very few to wield that power.
