The voters themselves are very much to blame, if they had to choose between "no Sharia" vs "welfare state" many would choose the latter. "The Young Turks" is a strange name for a liberal talkshow I dont think Cenk would take well with a show called "The Young Germans" He was also awfully silent during the Armenian holocaust centennial remembrance on the subject. It means that with repeated measurements (ensemble) the PRODUCT "variance" (the statistical property variance) of "position" and variance of "momentum" are a constant. A lot of layman confuse 1 with 2. On the other hand i don't know if I explained it well enough without using mathematics.

It can be hard to convey to people (if you go the selfthought route) in the beginning when you have no references what your skillsets are. What helps is to do like maybe a webpage with a list of what book you read and what kind of stuff you figured out yourself. So people can get a feel for what you do, and of course there is reddit and freenode irc (channels #javascript, #linux, etc etc). Massive amounts of senior people there and also some job postings (not much but sometimes I see them).

Mja, school can be pretty dull sometimes, but depends on schools and teachers,.., I think the whole schooling thing hasnt changed much for the past 130 years orso... Many people do great without institutional schooling, the polymath Oliver Heaveside was selfschooled (he hated school and dropped out of uni) and Lord Kelvin was home-schooled, (((in much the same way as Elon is schooling his kids.. copy cat maybe))) Ah and of course the wright brothers were self-thought engineers.
