Terrorist attack occurred today in London, 30 minutes away from where I live. Machete used, 1 person stabbed, although rumours about second victim, police arrested the suspect. He screamed "this is for Syria". http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/terrorism-in-the-uk/12035552/Knifeman-screams-this-is-for-Syria-in-London-tube-machete-attack.html video available : part 1: https://twitter.com/LowkeyMo_/status/673246265916919808?nav=true part 2: https://twitter.com/LowkeyMo_/status/673246475753807872?nav=true part 3: https://twitter.com/LowkeyMo_/status/673260966860169216?nav=true

Here is a very good example of how to deal with an argument that god is all powerful. Many thanks to Ferssitar who shared this video with me.

It's so, so sad to see that the people are like pigs who vote for farmer in hope that the farmer will keep them safe. Farmer decides to disarm the pigs and let the wolves in, in hope that the wolves will get him re-elected. He spreads the message of peace and tolerance so that the pigs do not fear that which is inevitable. Pigs trusted the farmer....But he wished only to benefit himself. Can they not see the truth?! We live in a tyrannical world, ruled by liars and deceivers. How much longer can people put their trust in those whose only goal is the power?! I am so angry and sad and frustrated. The blind, brain-washed masses are pulling us into a deep, dark pit. It is already a disaster. When will they wake up....

As a part of my undergraduate studies I had to research sex industry. A lot of women involved in activities such as pornography, lap dancing and prostitution have a past of sexual molestation, and abuse, usually starting from a very young age. Those articles usually portrayed sex industry as liberating and empowering, as women could finally be influential on a micro-level, since the so-called phallocentric, male dominated market had no place for women. However, most of my academic literature was based on feminist perspective so I'd take it with a grain of salt. Most of the articles I have read were full of deterministic point of view on how women are "forced" into such activities. Denying women responsibility for their actions is a terribly sexist thing to do, I was sure to mention it in my essays. However, it is also important to note that many female university students see sex industry (e.g. lap dancing) as a good way of paying off their university fees.

So, let's assume there are no good arguments which hold, does that mean that the argument that state owns the land therefore we have to pay is correct? It is a hard cookie to break, that's why I thought that collectively we could conjure up some good arguments

http://whistlinginthewind.org/2014/03/22/why-taxation-is-not-theft/ Here is the source guys. Those are some very good points, you are absolutely right, I should not assume that the other person is wrong without having a valid argument myself. I guess I have heard some excellent rebuttals to the argument made by this person, I just cannot remember.

I could use a good argument against the above. The only thing that comes to my mind is the argument against "social contract" which we never signed. I'd love to hear your take on this.

I am so sorry to hear about your experiences dsayers. It must have been awful to be victimised by the same people who you are meant to call when you are the victim. I am so glad that I am putting my law enforcement career behind me, although I don't think that here in the UK we have it as rough as you guys. However, we have no right to carry ANYTHING AT ALL for the purposes of self-defence. Also, it appears that the whole social experimentation with touchy subjects, like rape, becomes very popular among famous people, who usually don't know anything about it and simply recreate the narrative of feminists and other clueless masses. One recent example would be Jennifer Lawrence's essay on sexism in the movie industry. It is a sad, sad thing that people fall for these narratives so easily

Thanks Graham, I'll look into it, I appreciate it!

The thing is that in the UK such careers as Fraud Investigator requires certain skills usually acquired by working in the police force, I haven't worked in fraud unit, I don't think I'm eligible. Private Investigator is something I'm looking into, however there is a large amount of training and governmental licences required in order to become a Private Investigator. I'm willing to spend quite a bit of money in order to open up a new career path - It's inevitable if I want to have a good career.
-
Thank you all for kind words and advice, I appreciate it. I agree it's a bold move, however I value morality more than I value my pay check. When it comes to my degree, it mostly opens up career paths in governmental institutions, probation officer, police officer, prison guard. I will look into private investigator/private security. I was also considering applying for course in mathematics which could perhaps open some path in a financial world. Just a thought.

I realised that it does not matter whether I will attempt to "change the police force" or get assigned to a specialist unit which would deal with more serious stuff like homicide. At the end of the day my salary will come from theft. I cannot live with that.
