How will the unholy alliance between the Left and Islam end
mgggb replied to gretsch's topic in Current Events
It will end with right wing death squads. -
Maybe I'm just being thick, but how is that even possible? Is it just a loss leader for other Google products?

Pro Life and Pro Choice: Murder or Not Murder?
mgggb replied to Cryptolized's topic in Men's Issues, Feminism and Gender
Murder is wrong in every case, even if they're little babies--especially if they're little babies. -
Do you know who Joe Rogan is? I think if youtube seppukus itself his podcast becomes the defacto place to find new content because he has everyone from Alex Jones to the amazing atheist on. But my money is a creators union forming. They're sitting on a gold mine tbh. So much energy is wasted on unproductive time fillers.

This would be terrible imo, but inevitable given the current trajectory. I can only speak about my own experience, but it was through youtube that I was able to discover atheism, libertarianism, fdr, and many other ideological structures that make up who I am. But I think the real magic (for want of a better word) is that everything is aggregated together. So you can easily search for "x" and "rebuttals for x". The recommended videos feature is probably the most underrated feature of the site because it gradually exposes you to new ideas. I would have never sought out fdr just based on who I was at the time, but found it through related videos on economics.

Just an update, I've heard a possible solution is to hit companies like YouTube with antitrust lawsuits. It's certainly pragmatic, but I'm not sure what to think about that. On the one hand using the power of the state is immoral, but on the other hand youtube is violating the nap by promoting totalitarian ideologies. I'm leaning more towards the second.
-
I guess the real problem is that as totalitarian as youtube is getting, it's still the most convenient site and is still quite functional. You'd be hard pressed to get people to switch over an abstract moral issue. That's the same reason why Twitter hasn't been overtaken by gab.

I have YouTube red for $10 per month. I'd be willing to pay that much towards a censorship free youtube. I'm pretty sure streaming services like Spotify and Netflix make a tonne of money with subscription based models.

I don't think Stefan and I are in disagreement, but even if we are, that is still not an argument. I never claimed that college is risk free. My claim is that avoiding college is not an absolute, if you are going to go there are more financially sounds ways to do it, and that debt is not something to be avoided at all costs.- 12 replies

I was a 4chan nazi larper for a while and I decided to read mein kampf so I could make my larping even more edgy. The second chapter really blew me away because for the life of me I couldn't tell if it was written about 1930s Germany or modern day USA. So I was unironically a nazi for a while until I started reading about economics, then anarchism, then philosophy to get to my current form. National Socialism is more or less authoritarian centrism. Basically imagine if John McCain and Hillary Clinton gained dictatorial powers. Economically it is backwards, and statism is immoral in all forms, but it's also a reactionary movement. You only get this type of movement in response to a much worse movement. Then it was anti communism, now it is anti globalism/Islam. Compared to libertopia it is hell on earth, but I'll take it gladly as an alternative to communism every time.

Does anyone have any thoughts about the lecture series Dr Peterson is giving on the Bible? I had written it off for a long time as a bunch of nonsense fairytales, but his insight is absolutely astounding. It's definitely helping me bridge the gap to the "noble lie" perspective. Part of me wishes I could unlearn the logical arguments against religion, but since that is impossible, understanding religion from a psychological perspective seems to be the next best thing.

I don't understand the point of your post. I don't think anyone has ever claimed that lesser animals are unintelligent, but intelligence is relative. The question is always compared to what? If compared to humans, all other animals are beyond retarded. If compared to the demands of their environment then all surviving species are by definition intelligent.

For me I stop having things to talk about when I can predict what they're going to say. Most people have simple parameters. It's kind of frustrating, actually.

You've posted several times about similar topics. What actions have you taken to improve your situation?

There is nothing you have to do ever. Everything you do voluntarily is by definition something you want to do. So if you find yourself doing things that you think you shouldn't want to do, start with the assumption that you're doing what you want to do and it's fulfilling some kind of need in your life. For example, if someone is eating too much assume they want to over eat. It might be good for them because it helps them deal with stress. So to stop overeating they must find a way to reduce their stress.

1. There is no reason for being. You create your own reason or else you'll end up following someone else's reason. 2. I'm alive because what the hell else would I do? I'll spend the vast majority of existence not existing anyways, why hurry the process? 3. I strive to become a incredible father, husband, and psychoanalyst. 4. Yes. 5. See 3. Momentary pleasure tends to be long term pain. 6. I know it's worthwhile because there is literally nothing better I can think of doing. 7. I want it because it will fulfill many of my life requirements at the same time. Intellectual stimulation, helping others, good pay, be my own boss, can work from home, my writing will make me immortal. 8. Idk what you're asking here. Society is an abstraction, there's only other people you interact with. 9. Does it matter why you care? You do, and as far as I'm aware it's not possible to not care without going down a bad path. But this is also an abstraction, you have to be valuable to yourself before you can be valued by others. 10. Perception creates reality.

I find it axiomatic that I am God. I don't need to prove it to you because truth doesn't need to be proven. Now give me ten percent if your income every week for the rest of your life.

I think the "don't go to college" meme is a bit overstated. It's easy to look back and say you should have started a business but that's completely nebulous. "Start a business" is a wish, not a goal, if you don't have any idea on what it should be. Also, it's not upb, not everyone can start a business or wants to, and employers use it as a proxy for iq.

Desperate for any advice on what to do next...

I disagree. A career is something you'll spend a significant portion of your life doing, so if it's something you don't enjoy then by definition you're living a life you don't enjoy. Why work to live when you can live to work? Absolutely agree. But at least for me it was even more important than that because it helped me develop a daily routine. Having a routine is literally the best thing anyone can do to improve their life. All of those are directional problems. Does porn decrease the gray matter in your brain or are people who watch a lot of porn more likely to have less gray matter, etc? Honestly, I'd go the opposite extreme and say that porn is probably a good thing overall as a means of managing tfw no gf especially if it's not likely to change in the immediate future. Just because someone doesn't want to do something doesn't mean they shouldn't. Working in a mind numbing job is better than the alternative, which is death. Also, the world doesn't run on government funny money. The only reason it has value is because people still think it's genuine money, money being the stored labor of an individual. If you got rid of fiat currency with a snap of your finger its not like things would stop costing anything. Idk about this. Multitasking is more or less impossible for humans to do efficiently because of the high cost of context switching. I've tried listening to books while working out and I either end up having a crap workout or I don't pay enough attention to the book.
