  1. Have you ever been humiliated before by a woman when you were younger? You did say you felt disconnected before you were injured too. Would you mind if I recommended a few books that helped me on self growth?
  2. A child can comprehend the value of proper nutrition and can consent to eating broccoli because they can understand the basics of nutrition. You're making this far more complex than it has to be. You cannot consent to something that you cannot comprehend. A child cannot comprehend the physical and emotional ramifications of being in a sexual relationship and thus cannot consent. As for the majority of human relationships involving a power structure, you'll have to clarify more. The vast majority of my non work relationships involve no power structure at all. However when I was 13 the opposite was true in that all of my relationships with adults involved a power structure, ie parents, teachers, pastors, coaches, etc.
  3. You seem very ambivalent about meeting girls. In my experience, I don't avoid activities that are 100% pleasurable to me but I do avoid things that are both positive and negative. For instance, I'm currently avoiding a trip to the dentist to get a cavity filled because it is painful to do so even though it is positive in the long run. The positive aspects of a relationship are companionship, sex, children, etc, but what are the negatives in your mind that are holding you back? For me its thoughts of divorce, child support, finding myself with someone as crazy as my mother and becoming my father. What are the negatives that you perceive, real or imaginary? Do you think you are only worthy of being loved if you are ripped and muscular? By that logic the most you can ever be loved is in your mid 20-30s at your physical peak. As a thought experiment, consider your actions up to this point as generally the right thing to do in the story arc of your life. What does that say about your environment and those in it?
  4. Good. Those who would only invest in bitcoin as an etf dont deserve to be apart of it.
  5. If a 13 year old were capable of giving consent I would not have issue with it because it would be definitionally consensual. However, for someone to be able to consent they would have to be of sound mind and outside of a power structure. So even if there was someone 13 with a hyper developed brain, the odds of the adult not having some kind of structural power over them is all but nonexistent. It's not unfalsifiable, just that the odds of it ever being falsifiable are so infinitesimally small that its negligible.
  6. Women are natural conformists. Find one that is just saying stupid things because thats what all her friends say and reason her into submission.
  7. Welcome to the community, I enjoyed reading your post. You seem to be going through a lot of what I have and still am going through. Take what I am about to say with the knowledge that I am not a therapist nor do I intend to be one in the future. That said, you seem to have a lot of anxiety. Have you ever considered that you are right? You managed to navigate an abusive childhood, being drugged, and managed to come out with your true self still intact, no college debt that you mentioned, or alimony. Thats more than most can say. Maybe anxiety is your subconscious mind telling you that something or someone in your environment is dangerous. If you feel anxious about talking to a woman maybe you're right. Maybe there's something about her that you are unconsciously picking up on that would result in disaster if you got into a serious relationship with her. However, I'd like to hear more about why you don't feel you have a right to exist.
  8. I am a God in the eyes of my dog. I've existed for longer than it can comprehend and will continue to exist for longer than it can comprehend. I can do things that seem like miracles, like make food rain from the sky. I provide totally and completely for my dogs welfare. I am a benevolent God. I have never commanded my dog to worship me, yet whenever I come home after work he meets me at the door and showers me with praise and love. I enjoy being worshiped because I know how much he appreciates everything that I do.
  9. There is an ignore option you can configure in the settings, it works quite well. As for free riders being a problem on this board, I can't say they are. Digital goods are an infinite sum game. There are server costs, but a single person using the site without contributing financially is insignificant. However, by offering it for free many more people use it than if there were a pay wall and some do end up paying, probably more than if it were a p2p site.
  10. Some have, some haven't. What matters is if they are perceived to be integrating, not if they actually are. Agree or disagree, but sometime around ww1/ww2 they stopped being hyphenated americans. But I referenced it to talk about modern parallels, not if Germans have been good or bad minorities historically.
  11. It's impossible to say definitively one way or another without being an expert in many different fields such as economics, history, mathematics, etc. If my opinion is x I can find an expert to quote who supports x. If my opinion is y I can find an expert to quote who supports y, even though x and y are the opposite of each other. This is why it is so important to work from principles rather than effect. Theft is wrong, fiat money steals from savers by inflating a currency's value, therefore fiat money wrong. Theft is wrong, taxation is theft, therefore taxation is wrong. Coercion is wrong, deficit spending is money that is spent now and paid by those not yet born, therefore deficit spending is wrong.
  12. I think there are a lot of people who think they have a lot of power. 300 people control the world? Thats nice, but their "power" only exists so long as they don't make living too unbearable. If they ever decided to be really shitty all of us peasants would confiscate their wealth and hang them publicly in the town square. See the french revolution for more details.
  13. Let's look at this on a spectrum. Someone who is 25 years old has a fully developed brain and can give consent. Someone who is 2 years old has a very under developed brain and cannot give consent. Someone who is 13 is 12 years away from full brain development and almost certainly cannot consent. Think of a bell curve on a graph. How many standard deviations would you have to go before a 13 year old is developed enough to give the same consent as a 25 year old? Probably so many that the odds wouldn't be any less than one in a thousand billion. The odds of that ever happening are so slim that saying in absolute terms that 13 year olds cannot consent to sex is so similar to saying 1 in a thousand billion that it is negligible statistically. However if you leave the possibility open it gives predators the out that maybe what they are doing isn't evil because of such a remote possibility.
  14. I was speaking with a friend when the topic of integration came up. He is ethnically German and told me about how his ancestors came over here in the mid 1800s. They were content to live in enclaves of German culture in and around the Pennsylvania region until about ww1/ww2 when the anti german sentiment prompted them to learn English in a hurry. Here's an article about a Wisconsin town if you're interested in the topic. There are more than a few parallels with the modern hispanic subculture. I think this totally refutes the melting pot concept, with an important distinction: you can't really tell if someone is of German or English ancestry in the US without breaking out the calipers, but you will always be able to tell if someone is hispanic on sight, even if they have perfectly integrated. As I see it, Germans were the best case scenario for the melting pot to work out and there are still places today in the US that have not fully integrated, and that was after two world wars with massive anti German propaganda campaigns. What are your thoughts on the future of Hispanic integration? I think its grim.
  15. Ideally ever. Realistically one generation, if your parents were illegal and you haven't had children yet.
  16. I think its important to start by calling them by their proper name--illegal aliens. It is impossible to be an "illegal immigrant" because immigration is specifically a process by which one lawfully enters a country. As for how to get rid of them, there are three simple and passive ways I can think of off the top of my head. End the drug war by federally decriminalizing possession of all illegal drugs, and leave legalization up to the states. Impose draconian laws on businesses that higher illegals over their fellow citizens. Perhaps make it so that the CEO or stockholders or whomever are directly subject to lengthy prison terms, hefty fines, AND liability for any crimes an illegal commits while in their employ. Require hospitals to call ice if they suspect that someone is an illegal if they come to the er without insurance and cant speak english. End birthright citizenship and retroactively revoke it. Its important to remember that we have the moral high ground here. They are foreign invaders, pillaging resources from the taxpayers, using their children as hostages to extort us.
  17. They gave me one in high school. I don't remember what I scored, it was a while ago, but the breakdown was roughly 105-115 except for two categories. In motor skills I got something like 85-90 and in verbal skills I got ~135.
  18. I've been mulling around the idea of traveling. I'd love to see Europe before it becomes unrecognizable. I've heard that a few times. Winning the loto would probably be the worst thing that could happen to me because I'd still not know. I'll have to look into it. Joining the military is off the table, but I've heard good things about oil and gas. ty
  19. I'm a young man looking to get started in life, but I'm completely stumped as to what direction to go in career wise. What do you guys see as a worthwhile field to work in?
  20. Thanks for the laugh.
  21. How much of a time investment is this? I think I might be interested but I have no experience in rpgs
  22. I think Michael said it best when he said "As a principled non-voting anarchist I would gladly crawl through a field of glass to vote for Trump". To all those who don't understand the magnitude of the situation I only have one thing to say: delete your account.
  23. I'd love to get the chance to do so. I feel like I know these people but have never spoke to them.
  24. I agree. My impression was that you were looking to get tangled in the weeds of abstraction, but I was mistaken. I have not substituted my ability to think with his. He has built a lot of credibility and my opinion is that someone who has should be trusted so long as they maintain it. Our views are aligned but I accept that he has more experience than I, so I'll follow his lead until such a time that I can begin to lead myself. Part of thinking is knowing when to take good advice, for the same reason I trust my doctor implicitly because he has more experience than I and our goals are the same--that being my long term health.
