  1. Has anyone seen the 2014 movie that the series is based on? I don't remember it being as blatantly one sided as the series trailer seems to be. Or I was lost in the maze when I saw it.
  2. Post truth is The Washington Post's version of truth:)
  3. More fuel? http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-russia-cyber-idUSKBN14S0O6
  4. I think that it's a waste of time to speak Cantonese to a Frenchman. However, Scott Adams said that it's irrational to try and be rational in an irrational world as it will affect your happiness.
  5. I've always thought that one of the flames that burns brighter here at FDR is the entertainment value. There are other sites with great ideas and insights but sometimes the presentation isn't quite palatable. I'm a filmmaker/actor and would like to do more stuff like this.
  6. I'm open to possibilities but somehow the idea of one man shutting down a mammoth organization using only signatures on documents sounds like something from Marvel comics. That's an enormous amount of time and energy spent to get to the top of the beast only to have it flick you off. He might be able to get a wider audience a la Ron Paul but then his message will have changed.
  7. More importantly how is it that we shorten our cuss words by saying MoFo but not CoSo?
  8. In a very broad stroke I see it as when more blood and oxygen made it to the frontal lobes. Hey, I said it was broad.
  9. No it's an analogy to saying, "I don't care what's true because believing what I believe makes me feel hopeful."
  10. I could see the rise of a third party inspection industry that's funded by the subscribers who want the products they are consuming inspected. It would be the FDA with actual incentive to please their customers instead of stealing the money then pretending to care. As far as the free market being a magic 8 ball that knows the future of toxic disasters, yeah probably not gonna happen.
  11. If I lose my keys in the basement but only search in the living room because there's more light I won't find my keys.
  12. I would imagine there would be an inspection industry for this kind of thing.
  13. One of the most important questions is "How do you know?" With so much information overload are we to all become relentless journalists if we are to know anything? https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/obama-orders-review-of-russian-hacking-during-presidential-campaign/2016/12/09/31d6b300-be2a-11e6-94ac-3d324840106c_story.html?utm_term=.c1f4975c0ad4 http://www.snopes.com/2016/12/10/cia-russia-interfered-with-u-s-elections/
  14. Didn't Battle Star Galactica tackle this with the Cylons?
  15. Gravity. The greatest illusion of them all. (Jumps off bridge) Ouch!! That ground is pretty f#*king real.
  16. What is the sentimental agreement? Do you favor anarcho-libertarian ethics because they might lead to a happier life or the same as one would favor rice over potatoes? I ask because you mentioned this forum influenced your current perspective.
  17. If you're still interested let's back up a bit. What position are you convinced on given that Stefan's philosophy is anchored to property rights being a universally applied concept.
  18. Actually I'm trying to work it out myself and found your perspective challenging but I'm okay with ending it too.
  19. So with determinism off the table we can continue the discussion. You are saying that you are the one ultimately responsible for your thoughts and actions. Do you hold this as an objective truth for all?
  20. Those who challenge and or break this cycle are nothing short of hero's.
  21. So morality is not only based on sentimental agreement but is also pre-determined? This implies that one can't be wrong so is there even a point in discussing it?
