Isn't it a contradiction for positive Paul to call you negative? That sounds like a negative thing to do. Couldn't you say "Don't be negative about my pointing out real problems and stop calling me names because that's also negative." Shouldn't he say, "Thanks for allowing me to hear you out."

Does your money belong to you?
DCLugi replied to Costa's topic in Libertarianism, Anarchism and Economics
Isn't any form of currency just a representation of a person's energy and time? The actual paper and ink aren't of much value. -
Wow. This might not be quite on the mark but if I own a dog and I allow someone else to control it for a while and it bites someone then aren't we both at fault?

For me life is opportunity and with self knowledge I can exploit that opportunity.

I can see how it might be taken that way. It's a writing flaw. If I wasn't such a joke whore I would've thought it through more. Thanks for the feedback.

I'm saying that as the writer I'm not opposed to owning guns. I was going for the joke:) So perhaps it's just not written clear enough.
-
Yes but it's the instructions on what to do with the firearm not the firearm itself that make the point. The "allergic to firearms" is just going for the joke.
-
Thanks for the multi sharing man. I'm surprised at how well it's being received even among political types.
-
It's not written that way but maybe that's how it comes across. The idea is that guns aren't the issue but using them to take money is.

To control someone skillfully is perhaps useful for children who are not yet capable of reason but the goal is to allow their capacity for reason to grow. I would argue that people who are too traumatized to reason will never be "on our side" but you could make the case for wanting them to be less harmful to society.

Damn. Sorry to hear that your mom isn't supportive about you wanting to do something positive for yourself. It's tough to hear that a parent doesn't want the best for you. There are much smarter folks here than I but I thought I'd respond.

First, remove the religion and politics. From here I see it as individual businesses deciding who they want to sell to. If I could afford to I would open a gay only one stop shop and compete it the market.

Where in the world is Stephan Molyneux?
DCLugi replied to guitarstring87's topic in General Messages
He's standing in line to have his name changed to "Stephan" because it's such a common error:) -

So I have this idea floating around in my jello container. I'd like to produce a short about the parallels of family and society. We see two siblings (maybe 7 years old) who have never been reasoned with attempting to resolve a conflict. Arguing over who gets to play with the new toy, they turn to the parent/authority who steps in and lays the hammer down. One child is happy while the other is left crying. This is all intercut with the current political way that society solves issues. Then we see the same scenario with a peaceful parent dealing with this situation intercut with how that would play out in society. Any creative insight welcome.

Pope says it's OK to spank kids, if their dignity is kept
DCLugi replied to Alan C.'s topic in Peaceful Parenting
The Pope says it's okay to be the mouthpiece for an all knowing magical entity as long as the silly hat fits. -
Why do we say sorry for things we didn't cause?
DCLugi replied to MysterionMuffles's topic in Self Knowledge
Sorry to take a slight left turn but I always find it strange when people say "thank you" when they are complimented on their looks as if they were in some way responsible.
