I love to initiate those awkward conversations and am delightfully surprised when people are open to them. By trade I'm a freelance video production addict. My latest.

My girlfriend was summoned a while ago and they gave out notebooks to jot down notes. They claimed that they wouldn't read them but alas they did. She scribbled some "questionable and compromising" things to which they thought it best to dismiss her.

This guy probably faces more community blow back than Stef.

Who is everyone voting for in the 2016 US presidential election?
DCLugi replied to RyanBaxter's topic in Introduce Yourself!
I've voted many times for humanity to end this whole leader dependency crisis. -

To which I say, "Universal government?" -

I ask if the "love it or leave it" gang would hold their stance in a world government. -
I just can't imagine that in this situation anyone is open to hearing anything with a clear mind. It's like starting a philosophical conversation with someone wearing a shirt that says, "Because I'm the parent that's why". That said my girlfriend had jury duty a while back and they were all handed notepads to take notes. She wrote on hers "I don't consent to being here". They're not supposed to read them but the next time she was called in they said they couldn't help but see what she'd written and asked if she thought her perspective would in any way affect her judgement in the case. She asked if it mattered and do I have a choice of whether to be here or not. They had a sidebar and "dismissed" her.

Why does god need to be outside of time?
DCLugi replied to Magnetic Synthesizer's topic in Atheism and Religion
If you are aware of what my choices are going to be before creating me and still create me knowing that my fate is hell. I don't think that we are getting anywhere but thanks for the chat. -
Why does god need to be outside of time?

I agree but generally that's the definition that I hear. I suppose the "what if" questions could go on forever. -
Why does god need to be outside of time?
DCLugi replied to Magnetic Synthesizer's topic in Atheism and Religion
I was posing the question with the impression that god is all powerful and not subject to conditions for creating life. -
Why does god need to be outside of time?

But you created it knowing it's outcome. It didn't have choice to be created. If you create something already knowing that it's going to hell then wouldn't that qualify as evil. -
Why does god need to be outside of time?
DCLugi replied to Magnetic Synthesizer's topic in Atheism and Religion
Isn't it sadistic to create something, that you consider your child, knowing that it will be doomed to suffer for all eternity? -
Why does god need to be outside of time?
DCLugi replied to Magnetic Synthesizer's topic in Atheism and Religion
Would it follow that he knew that many would be doomed to hell before creating them? -

Is that to say that god is aware of the outcomes of our choices before we make them? -
Athiest's Church of Universally Preferable Behaviour
DCLugi replied to Joel Richard's topic in Atheism and Religion
What would be the difference between a church and a meetup group? The word church is already taken. -
Religion as evolution of empirical model of morals
DCLugi replied to trout007's topic in Atheism and Religion
It's the unnecessary side effects that come with religious morals that need deleting so that the same morally healthy societies can function without the superstition. -
Whenever I hear about the turmoil this puts people through I feel so grateful to have been spared this kind of anguish. My next thought is "What am I currently adhering to that might be completely wrong and if so am I willing to give it up"

Athiest's Church of Universally Preferable Behaviour
DCLugi replied to Joel Richard's topic in Atheism and Religion
Belief is a tricky word. It seems to show up when proof isn't required. -

Can we say that Logic is a system of shared beliefs? -
If I let you in my house can I set a rule saying I can do what ever I want to you? Morality doesn't change when I get into a taxi that isn't mine. The driver has the right to remove me from his cab but he can't say while you're in my cab I have the right to open mouth kiss you while shaving your legs.
