  1. They've also had their economies crushed via foreign aid. You know, the curse of good intentions and all that.
  2. It's really strange to me that he says the system will get more efficient without quoting any sort of projection for it OR how he came to that conclusion. It's also weird to hear them talk about creating jobs when his plans rely on people having jobs and being high earners in the first place.
  3. Pretty impressive set. I'd like to collect older books when I get the space and money.
  4. As a guy who never went to college. Why the fuck would I ever go there? No seriously, can I not build skills and gain income through other means? If I'm gonna go 20k+ into debt, I'll start my own business. Also, I've heard of stories from college, stories about sophomores who are incapable of writing structured, coherent paragraphs. Really? Does that sound like a good place to use my time? Really though, the heart of the problem is this. Where's the competition? Can you meaningfully compete with these services? Sure, I can, but I'm a bit higher on the IQ scale than most, it seems. So I have a loooot of sympathy for those that want to do different but can't. (Money taken via taxes and inflation that makes opting out extraordinarily hard.) I feel that even regular men, at this point, see college as the shitty money sink it is. They also receive much less aid than women because privilege.
  5. Glad to see Dsayers hanging around here again. One of my favorite forum goers.
  6. If I could go back to my late teens i'd pimp into Bitcoin all I could
  7. Dat huge deleted post I tried to quote where he said it was important to beat your kids to teach them that initiating violence only begets retaliation. Looking forward to hearing how the counter beating goes for you in 12+ years mate! Also, BTFO!!!
  8. Oooo, I remember Mercedes from various Honey Badger podcasts with Karen Straugh??? as well. Good stuff goin on here.
  9. Basically it's a form of communication and data.
  10. I really think it might just be as basic as she was an easy lay. No seriously, this would put him in the R camp (spray and pray) and he could afford the risk. Was it trading up? Eeehh, I think quantity has its own quality for R type men due to more genetically linked chaps trouncing about the world.
  11. Yet another problem technology is already solving DESPITE governmental barriers. http://www.sciencealert.com/this-chinese-company-can-3d-print-10-houses-in-a-day How will it be solved? Idk man, by the time we get there we'll likely be on a terraformed Mars at this rate!
  12. I, like I presume many people here, enjoy engaging in discourse in various communities around the net. I like to challenge myself in the pursuit of reason, knowledge, and evidence by trying to pit my wits against discourse. But often times I feel like maybe I'm missing something when it comes to being as precise as I desire. I know I'm not terrible by any means, but I often feel a little lacking in feedback. Like there's no experienced individual I could turn to for judging my discussions. It'd also be nice to have a second opinion for telling me when enough is enough. I don't want an echo chamber, just to meet people who can tell me when I've done an apt duty at defending reason, rationality, and evidence. I suppose I moreso worry that I'm picking fights which are too into the realm of being unreasonable and I'm not doing anything but wasting my time and making a foolish display for those who would like to do similar. Does anyone else feel similar?
  13. I wonder what the income for the people pushing the system would be. I've had a few arguments with people over this topic before. I first heard about it from a guy talking about Hypercapitalism on Bitcointalk.net. He also linked back to a lot of his own material as sources for how it (provably) works. Another guy told me he wanted to do it to "Make everyone happy. To give everyone a basic level of happiness in a way that some do not exploit others." ...Mind you this guy also said he had no desire to preserve his own life yet found himself ideal to manage others. He even went so far as to say "Yes, I would back it with coercion and taxes because to take something from the world without paying into my system is theft. That which existed in nature belongs to everyone so others shouldn't be able to refine/use it without asking permission via paying first." But hey, it was okay, since the government represents the will of the people.
  14. Apparently the boys father has already ran to be president of Sudan and plans to again very soon. Hmmmm....
  15. I actually don't get why there's always this condition of super AI/Computer intellect dominating society and making everything else obsolete. I mean, wouldn't the eventual goal be to merge what we now call flesh based organisms and AI into even higher super entities which can organize faster than either separate? Wouldn't the highest being end up being some sort of goo-like creature made of highly engineered nano machines that can reorganize and grow almost indefinitely? Wouldn't such creatures want more than one of themselves to ensure there are no errors being overlooked and etc? I think we'd have a condition of seeing fields and specialists we have today only more focused and efficient. I'm sure you could find a way to recreate new brain patterns with IQs in the tens of thousands, hell, maybe tens of trillions at some point.
  16. Here's generally how I see friendships in the post relationship zone - impossible. The reason I see it this was is cause if 2 people love each other in a genuine and true way then generally they'll grow together and love each other more. If the relationship ends its cause at least 1 party wants it to be so due to growing apart (which will only become more pronounced over time) or because one or both people were shitty at relationships. Whereas if I love the person, we're emotionally and logically compatible and they're generally pleasant to have in my life I just think about how I want to keep spending more time with that person.
  17. Or maybe we'd have to pay less cause they'd have made better methods for breeding the animals or developed better maintenance methods. Not that it matters at this point anyways since we'll likely all be eating 3d printed hamburger in a decade anyways.
  18. Feedback? I wasn't aware we had a surplus of people who have an excess of knowledge in the Indus Valley civilizations or Ancient Egypt
  19. Seems like pretty shitty propaganda to me. I legitimately have no clue what I'm reading. I don't know what the message they're trying to convey is. It jumps around too much. Can't they at least be good at lying? I've seen much better data and arguments made by unapologetic statists. (Some of whom insist you can't have a position known as Anarchy because that's anti civilization.)
  20. Oh, do you still have that explanation of the monetary system? Was it satisfactory in any way at all?
  21. Here's a very good video dealing with what the human consciousness might be.
  22. We actually have a large skype group with a smaller in group of peeps we know don't mind hanging out and talking a bit. Mostly these groups focus on the interpersonal with a lot of jokes being fired back and forth all the time.
  23. https://youtu.be/TsMgF9LSWN4?t=1m52s Trump has some grains of truth in the things he says, but he also has some pretty terrifying war mongering rally cries in his speeches. I think they really ought to do a little more digging. Trump goes against a lot of the major narratives in a lot of ways, but in others he seems to be proud of militaries and their capacity to achieve goals he finds preferable...
  24. To be honest, if you just lower your refined/added sugar intake below 10g per day then you're gonna be doing better than the extreme vast majority of people.
  25. Scientists did an experiment that seeks to illuminate free will as being a thing. http://hplusmagazine...ates-free-will/ Check it out.
