Bitcoin? Prices So Low?
Crallask replied to papatree84's topic in Libertarianism, Anarchism and Economics
BTC is the biggest player at the moment and likely will be for at least another 3 years. I wouldn't be surprised if the price really did hit 10,000 like some people speculate. But I also think it has a number of flaws which alt coins can help address and that some alts are poised to match it if not overtake it completely in the long term future. (and no, I don't mean LTC or Doge.) -
Which of my facts were twisted? (Because I obviously don't know as much about the situation as you.)

Dude, assuming you want a girlfriend/romantic female partner that is of an exceptional quality then you're setting yourself up for a bad time. Imagine being a woman and hearing that some guy was helping his ex who ditched him cause she wanted a more open sex life got into all the trouble she did, cheated on her boyfriend, etc. And that you're willing to devote a shitload of time to someone that's giving you back nothing. I'm telling you this right now man. You can't help people in her condition. They have to want to change. What incentive does she have to change when she can cheat on her boyfirend, get wild threesomes, AND retain the time and attention of her ex? In my opinion. You're not just unable to help her. You're exacerbating the problem by enabling her bad behavior. If I was a woman of quality and not an asshole who likes easily manipulated guys then i'd hear this story and my vaginal folds would feel like to gritty ends of sandpaper chaffing against one another. I know you don't want to crash and let her burn, but sometimes you got to. People choose their own paths in life. Let them take what they want and pay for it. Right now you're letting her rack of debt on your end that I would never expect her to return. AND YOU ACTUALLY MADE THE EXCUSE THAT HER THREESOME WAS BETTER THIS TIME AROUND. No it wasn't - she was fucking cheating to do it. I don't doubt that the guy is none too impressive a moral specimen. But don't give out blatant excuses like that. I get it - she has a vagina. I don't give a shit. Stop hurting decent women by giving attention to an unrepentant cheater who you also excuse as getting "Swept away in the moment." Women can do so, soooo much better. But they'll never need to if you just blow fog out your ass about how monogamy might be outdated and etc just to protect her bad choices.

Bitcoin? Prices So Low?
Crallask replied to papatree84's topic in Libertarianism, Anarchism and Economics
I don't remember the date, but I believe the auction ended a year ago. The price has affected by a chain of events. Including at 1200 being false. it was blown up that high by the owner of GOX. People trusted GOX for the price of btc. Apparently there were 2 bots set to spam buy/sell orders that would up the price. This is feasible when you consider GOX stole large amounts of BTC over time - the height of the theft coming in at the end of its life. (Everyone saw the red flags then and jumped ship.) -

Actually they held a massive auction for them. -

I work in the crypto field and do reports and investigations and the sort. The recent downturn of BTC price was caused by a former equipment specialist which sold Mining equipment dumping 120,000 bitcoins they effectively stole - yes, stole. (They would promise products - ship them late, USE the fucking equipment to mine coins for themselves after it had been purchased - saying products were delayed. Once the effectiveness of the mining gear dropped beyond a certain value due to how the hashrate was scaling they'd ship them out sometimes. This is a biiiiig fucking deal when you realize how mining difficulty and the expected delivery date would impact the RoI of this equipment.) The Bitstamp hack was big, but also keep in mind GOX which was 11 months ago and Mintpal back in October. (Three major exchanges failing in a year.) In addition to this you also have another group such as GAW making their own crypto currency which had a huge initial investment but flopped due to being a scam. (They guaranteed they could double its price from your initial investment - they fucking couldn't and it dropped from 10 USD to 2 USD) Also, Auger. Coinbase has recently announced that they're going to be running the first licensed and regulated USD exchange for cryptos. I for one, welcome this. As we'll get to see how free market unregulated sectors fair vs this new breed of entanglement. -
There's nothing moral or immoral about it. It's just a preference. Cheating would be immoral because you're lying to your partner about boundaries you have established with one another. (So what she did was certainly worthy of contempt. What if they had an STD and she gave it to him by having sex after their threesome?) That being said, I find it extremely bizarre that you think modern society has dissolved it as a necessity. What is the status of families in the face of the imbalanced monogamy of the present day? Also - why do you even care about this? I don't exactly see what you're getting out of this than her calling you back up, saying she was sorry for some things. (Not all of it, she just had some regret in your wording.) After this she then proceeded to dump all her woes upon you and I heard you getting nothing back from any of it. Quick question - How pretty is she? Because not only is she cheating, she cheated with a married couple that had problems from her prior insertion into their sex life. So she hurt the couple again, herself, and her boyfriend - why? Because she's not mature enough to break up with a guy unless she has a safety net of attention waiting to serve her? I mean, it sounds like you're already her emotional boyfriend anyways. So you get to do the emotional work while someone else gets to jam the clam and she searches to trade up. Please - let me know if I'm wrong about any of this.

Suggestion: The truth about Deng Xiaoping and Mao

Interesting - but research intensive. Just remember that these presentations take a shitload of work, research, recording, editing, production, etc. And we're always free to pitch in any time the user base wants to help.- 3 replies

I don't understand the transition scenes being cars moving though. Maybe they have some reasons behind it, but I think some simplistic and still image would be enough for a transition - maybe different images to mark what topic is being address. (Economics, social relations, parenting, government violence, etc)

How does this compare with people taking a multivitamin? How fast could one detect such a change? Just curious.- 6 replies

TBH that might be for the best. I hope the next president just goes on vacation for his entire term. Better absent than doing harm.

Scientific team believes sugar source of disease
Crallask replied to Alan C.'s topic in Science & Technology
I watched this presentation years ago. I'm no expert nutritionist, but I find it very fascinating and am fairly convinced by it. I try to keep my sugars low on a weekly basis. Some general health practitioners I've seen recommend male adults get under 15 grams per day of added sugars. I believe a single can of pop has over 40 grams of sugar, just for perspective. -
Can we take some unimportant secrets to the grave?
Crallask replied to William Wyatt's topic in Self Knowledge
There are people who can do all sorts of immoral things and still live relatively well adjusted. So the question of -can- is a yes. I focus more on the truths and the "should." Hope that helps ya. -
You cannot learn it for "free" because it has a time cost. Also - I didn't say anyone was entitled to anything. The point is that you're NOT entitled and therefore earn resources at a rate that is relative to your production. Sorry, but I cannot pay someone 30,000 a year if they're only making me 18,000. It's just not sustainable.

I too do not understand the point you're trying to make. Are there some assholes among the rich? Certainly. There are exploitative abusive assholes that profit from the current power structure and hierarchies. But the point about "hard word" is moot. I don't give a shit how hard someone works, sorry. You can work yourself in back breaking labor cutting down trees. So what? You're still just cutting down trees. You can drive a taxi - it comes with its own challenges... you're still just driving people. Managing large companies and groups requires skills exponentially greater than other forms of work which could be considered hard. So yes, thank you to all the construction workers, lumberers, and other such laborers. You do good stuff, but that doesn't mean you're not replaceable. Sorry, but a CEO, systems administrator, Senior scientists and engineers are far rarer. Whereas any able bodied male between the ages of 16 and 45 can do the sort of things these others do with a very small amount of training in comparison. Not to mention that they might be replaced soon enough by automated labor. Self directed vehicles aren't too far on the horizon after all. (I'm more giddy about printing and regrowing organs though)

Also don't forget that there were numerous loopholes the rich used to avoid paying those 90% tax rates. In addition to that, because the methods of securing and using wealth were so restrictive the US economy slowed to a comparative crawl to where it should have been. This allowed for places like Japan to rebound and catch up to the US because no one could use their money in its most efficient ways. I get so tired of these fucking people that blabber on about how to taking money from others is the solution when they themselves make more money than most people. I don't see them dropping 80% of their wealth into charity. Not only that, but there seems to be this assumption that all money held by anyone is the same. It's not. In the vast majority of cases - if you are rich it's because you've earned it. You know who you really want to be holding a lot of money? People that are good at investing and making solid returns. Because if there's one thing that fucks over everyone, it's the mass misallocation of wealth. Sure, a lot of rich folks can be assholes in one form or another, but I'd rather take a quirky yet skilled surgeon over a terrible one. (I can't really blame the rich for being grouches either - they tend to work their asses off to get vilified and have people talk about what they should do with their money after stealing it from them.)

As someone who specializes in the field of crypto platforms I rated Maidsafe among my top 5 platforms in the space. The others were NXT (My number 1), Ethereum, Bitcoin, and Storj. Storj is basically a competitor to Maidsafe which takes a different approach to the decentralization method. If anyone has any questions then please ask away and I'll answer them as best I can.

Fisher needs some serious work. I'm honestly not sure what he's getting at besides, "Things could be different." I didn't feel like I took away much from the presentation other than some claims about Incan civilization into which I'd need to look.
