Just kick their ass. They're threatening your existence. -
What Happens When a Lady "Manspreads"
MagnumPI replied to Lians's topic in Men's Issues, Feminism and Gender
Shit like this makes me wish women had balls, just because that's where these feminists need to be kicked. Like the lip being pulled over your head thing. Lets put a golf ball in your pelvic cavity and push it directly into your kidneys just to give an idea of what happens when the slightest tremor reaches a testicle. -
The Warlords of Anarchy
MagnumPI replied to GasCap's topic in Libertarianism, Anarchism and Economics
I've never actually met a warlord. Do they hide during the State and come out when anarchy? -
Wonder what the economic benefits will be? Waiting for the onion's take on this.

Ask how they think it went down. Then dissect that nonsense. They'll use words like "all the time", "never" and "always" a lot. The one thing to keep in mind is they believe it. To someone living in obscurity without empathy and self awareness, you are full of shit. The idea that there can be only one true account or description of the events is unfathomable. I've even seen it written on facebook, by an idiot, that they don't believe in objectivity. At all.

They have plenty of insight to offer on all kinds of topics, wisdom to share, etc. Life isn't all about "the state" and while I enjoy my time alone, I really like having someone to talk to. Who says I'm looking for them? Haven't met a prepper who wasn't simply following a trend or very loud recommendation to prep, out of fear.
-
Has she always talked like that?? I don't remember her being that annoying. Not to say she's wrong on the points. Douchebag just keeps saying "good" "heroic" with no basis. White knighting to the peanut gallery. Nobody has anything to say about the facts and statistics. Same bullshit I get anytime I try to talk people. About anything.

Anybody can go hide away in the sticks with hillbillies in New Hampshire. Try San Diego, Santa Monica, Irvine. Some kind of challenge. Like, "Free Keene". Right, get 20,000 people to vote you to mayor and you're done. And they can't even do that. The failing of the FSP is that they need people to move there first. And of course, anytime between November and March, most people would take one look and run as fast as possible in the other direction. I've already got 40 million people in my state. Seems to be easier to interact with them in the sun than hunting down the people who are already half way there, too busy prepping in the cellar to have any progressive, philosophical discussion. And then what does that accomplish anyway? Now we can all smoke dope and protest the meter maids... together!

The Most Dangerous Idea in Mental Health
MagnumPI replied to MysterionMuffles's topic in Current Events
The Satanic cult stuff was big in Bakersfield, with the DA's office being the subject of a book called Mean Justice. From my memory of reading about it, that was a situation of little kids being basically tortured and coerced into saying things. Not teenagers or 20 something adults with repressed memories. Just flat out isolating children and harassing them for hours on end. Some background on this, in particular: http://reason.com/archives/2009/12/21/kern-countys-monstrous-da -

I don't see what the problem is. I see no 'situation' at all. Kids had fun, the horror! Whatev, obviously they need a bath, but I'd just ask why I wasn't invited? -
Conquering anarchist "countries"
MagnumPI replied to Eddie Brock's topic in Libertarianism, Anarchism and Economics
Every society is anarchist. They will all benefit from non-coercive interaction. It doesn't matter if they know it or not. I mean, you could replace the government with defense agencies, and road building companies, whatever else and most people wouldn't even know. They can barely tie their shoes or make a grilled cheese sandwich. As far as being conquered, what does that even mean in modern life? If government X wants to conquer country Y, what does that look like? Either they replace the state in power or it doesn't happen. Say there's no government and the hordes move into some property in Texas, and attempt to occupy. OK, so now you've got some acreage, and the attention of 10 million good ol' boys. And the resulting gain is...? What, would North Korea move in and demand they be allowed to raise cattle or else? The oil, perhaps? Yeah, good luck trying to muscle them out of their land. Look at tribal societies living in the forest, on an island or even aborigines. They still exist, right? So, to think that just because a group of people are living someplace that they will necessarily be conquered and enslaved is false. And if it is indeed the people that some conqueror wishes to take over and tax or coerce into producing gadgets for them, then why would they not just kidnap who they need and keep them in a dungeon safely within their own borders? The problem is that people still view anarchy as a society or structure. That's not how it works. It's not this magical boundary on the map is now free of government, come at us. It took the state decades to get where it is, spreading tentacles and killing people in thousands of different ways. They didn't just show up, kill the men, take the women and enslave the children. Maybe hundreds of years ago, but it's not viable now. In short, define conquer. And if it is what has already happened in the past, then it would require convincing, not violence. And if we're are right(we are) that an "anarchist society" would produce the most prosperity then it would be pretty hard to talk people out of it and to institute sociopaths to run everything. Look what happened with Cliven Bundy. Now multiply that by like 1000 and you get an idea of the trend towards people escaping the reach of the state. The US government backed down on it's own land, how well do you think a foreign entity would fare? And then imagine that the people they're coming for already distrust the state 100%. -

I have some direct experience in this field. I work, primarily, in the oil industry as a "Systems Integrator"(add-ons to existing facilities) and "Electrical Designer"(schematics, control panel layouts, equipment layout, cable and conduit planning and routing). Electrician work is good, the hands on experience will help get you acquainted with equipment and fundamentals and whatnot. But generally speaking, FDR listeners are above that kind of work. There's money to be made, and it's not for just any absolute moron, but certainly a rung or two lower than engineering. Another option along those lines is panel builder. Control panel wiring for whatever industry, reading more complex schematics. Exposure to different ares of electricity. Power is really limited, low ceiling stuff. Controls and software is the place to be. Personally, I went the route of learning Autocad, then PLC and HMI/SCADA programming and design. A lot of engineers skip the design stuff or learning to use Autocad effectively. If you master it and all it offers along with excel and things like that, you can work towards project management. And I say Autocad because it's the most common, you might throw in some Pro/E, Solidworks, Visio... Just check the job listings for what software is being used in your area or expected field. The degree is obviously an asset in society. But it's not necessary if you aren't into it. Just take a few courses at the community college or whatever offers the skills you need. Or if you're really serious, you can take these specialized PLC classes for Allen-Bradley, SIEMENS, etc. for usually $2500 or so a piece. Sometimes you can workout deals. On ebay they have simulators for a few hundred and come with the controller and some lights, motors to get you started. SIEMENS makes a basic PLC for like $150 as well. Plenty of online resources if you go that route. This would apply to mining, oil, I've worked at a company that made conveyor and crushing/shredding systems for recycling centers and waste disposal, some HVAC, but that's going to be more software oriented, which means proper programming education. PLC is ladder logic, programming for people who don't really program. Amusement parks, small market but it's there. Water systems are big and they're all over. Waste water, water treatment municipal stuff. Best is to get on at a small engineering office that gets a lot of different kinds of contracts.

Ideas aren't property. Self pity really doesn't help your case. -

No. I mean, I don't accept the premise exactly, but even drawing it out, the short answer is still no. -

What makes you think we want an alternative? I can't speak for anyone else, but I certainly do not want them to be replaced by anything. -

If the manufacturers will pay for your ideas then there's the end of it. That's how you make money. You want to be paid by everyone who uses an idea. Ideas are not consumable. -

Tesla died broke as hell. Henry Ford did not. Inventors do not get rich. Producers do. Sorry...? Yes. You shouldn't.
